1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

It is difficult to single out one particular aspect of this most memorable holiday. The landscape was stunning from the snow-covered vastness and tranquility to the clear unpolluted skies where the colours were vivid and pure by day and revealed so many stars at night along with the magnificent Aurora displays. Every activity was a great experience: cross-country skiing was such fun, the visits to the husky farm and reindeer farm were great as well as informative and the Sami museum was very interesting indeed. The chef at Muotka Lodge was excellent. Matt was a great rep too.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Wear layers as you do get 'hot' when cross-country skiing. You do need good gloves/mittens and liners as the mittens provided are fine for Aurora watching out at night or for sitting as passenger in sled or on snowmobile but you cannot hold anything with them so you'd need your own for flexibility.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes it was great that all the guides were Finns and it was good to be supporting the local economy so dependent on tourism. I also felt that the tourism was carried out in a sustainable way as most Finns so rightly feel very proud of their environment respecting a delicate balance between Man and Nature.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent. The only point I felt a little disappointed in is that at Muotka Lodge, staying in the main hotel accommodation, we had to book the sauna and slots were for one hour which resulted in us not getting into the sauna at all during our whole visit as when we returned from anywhere it was already booked. I would certainly have made use of the sauna if it had been freely available for guests in the late afternoon for example without the need to pre-book.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The most memorable part of the holiday was arriving in Kitilla to a temperature of -29 degrees and the very strange feeling of the water in your nose freezing! However this did not deter us from dipping into the frozen lake several times during our stay which I definitely recommend. The snowmobile safari was our favourite activity.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Definitely bring heat pads which you will need for the husky safari and lunch in the ice restaurant

Yes definitely benefitted the local businesses

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

All of it! It was wonderful. We all loved different activities. I enjoyed the reindeer sleigh ride and the husky sledding while my 8 year old preferred the thrill of the snowmobile ride! The cross country skiing and snowshoeing required more skill than we expected. However, the scenery for every activity was stunning and definitely the star.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Do it! buy some good thermal underwear. buy a bulk pack of hot hands hand warmers from amazon as they were worth their weight in gold!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

All the activities were run by local people.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Fabulous
