Reviews for Lhasa to Kathmandu overland tour

review 8 Jan 2020

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Being (almost) at Everest Base camp. The views and the countryside are amazing. The culture is strange but educational. And it's cold....

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Don't expect as good a service as Exodus or Explore. Nor for the accommodation to be to Western standards.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

A good experience but will not be doing it again, either in Tibet or with this operator.

Read the operator's response here:

Dear Roger Letch, Thank you for your comments. Your trip benefitted the local people as we used Tibetan English-speaking tour guide and Tibetan driver to guide the group of clients to visit tourist sites. We use the hotel and restaurants owned by Tibetan. These brought income to local Tibetan and benefited local people. We make sure no organic rubbish will be left around tourist sites. On the tourist bus, we prepare small plastic trash and hope clients bring rubbish to bus when they have it the tourist sites. The small plastic trash can on the bus is recycled. The rubbish is brought back to Lhasa for centralized processing. Best Regards, Leon
