1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Spending half a day snowmobiling with Olof and cooking and eating in the jungle. Amazing experience!!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

We did an extra activity, the northern light hunt which I think it wasn't worth the money - 1200 SEK per person. It was something that you could do yourself for free. Walking for 5-10 minutes from the lodge and then waiting for it. Maybe if it was more adventures, more fun would have been worth it!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes doing some activities i.e. Husky sledding, snowmobiling, ... definitely helped locals.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

An amazing experience in the cold and snow warmed up with the hospitality of the staff and locals.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

It was very early in the winter season when I went, so there weren't many other guests. There also wasn't enough snow to do some of the activities, but the staff were really friendly and took excellent care of me. They organised alternative activities and even took me around the husky kennels to meet the dogs and have a quick go on a sledge despite the snow not being deep enough in the forest to do a proper trip. The birds nest was wonderful - the views over the lake are stunning. And the food was absolutely delicious.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Don't be afraid to talk to the staff about what you want to get out of your time there. They were able to help me go see concerts at the local church and visit an animal park in Lycksele, none of which was pre-arranged, but really made my holiday special. Some of the hiking trails around the lake are a little precarious in the snow, so be careful, but definitely give them a go. They are well marked through the forest and worth the effort for the views and the feeling of being in Narnia.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

If you spend any time talking to the staff you discover just how integral Granö Beckasin is to the local community. All of the staff are locals, the food is locally sourced and all the activities are run through local companies. It's really nice to see a community come together and take pride in what they do.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I loved my time in Granö. I needed to get away from the city and relax, which is exactly what I did. I was travelling alone, but the staff were so friendly that I never felt like I had to be alone if I didn't want to be. I would definitely recommend it there if you like peace and beautiful countryside and good food.
