Reviews for Guyana tour, wildlife and birdwatching

review 26 Feb 2019

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The holiday was very good overall, but I particularly enjoyed the spectacle of Kaieteur Falls and the Cock of the Rock.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

This trip is fairly serious birdwatching, and devotes little time to anything else.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, on all counts. All the eco lodges were entirely run by the local community, and provide employment on many levels, encouraging active preservation of the natural environment. Filtered safe drinking water was always freely available, minimising the effect of plastic bottles, and solar generated power provided the majority of our electricity, sufficient to charge cameras, phones and lights - but not for those who expect hairdryers or TVs!

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

This is a great holiday for enthusiastic birders, and the company were well organised. I did really enjoy my trip, however, as someone more interested in all aspects of wildlife and nature, in retrospect, I would have chosen a trip with a less bird-only focussed itinerary.
