1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Visiting the sites especially Delphi.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

This is advertised as a small group tour. It is not, it is a holiday with pre-booked excursions. It also is not small group it is more a full coach load on the excursions for people of varying languages making explanations very slow.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

No, I can not totally agree with this statement. Yes, it used local guides, however on the excursions we went to specific excursion places for lunch and was taken into the towns we were staying in just for time for diner in the four/five star hotel. Did not get time to spend in the areas of the hotels to spend on dining or in the local shops.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We had a very good holiday all in all and really enjoyed the sites that we saw. However I thought I was booking a small group tour. I have been on many before, they work better. You can hear what the guide is telling you, have good time at the sites and also get local tours of the area you are staying, dining at local eateries. We were told the group was going to be max 26 but it was more like 48. We had very little to no time to look around the villages we stayed in with no guidance to local areas. At the end of the excursion some of the group carried on, while we were left at at the hotel in Delphi for 3-4 hours until a day excursion could pick us up, cutting down our last day in Athens. However, despite the drawbacks we loved the sites.

Dear Chloe, Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent experience on our Classic Greece Tour. I am pleased that there were many elements of the tour which you liked and that you enjoyed all of the sites you visited. I agree, Delphi is definitely one of the most impressive. I am sorry that the group tour experience didn't live up to your expectations and that the group size was larger than it should have been. Following your feedback we have spoken with our team in Greece and it appears that due to an administrative error in our Athens office you were actually placed onto our large group multi-lingual tour which absolutely shouldn't have happened. This tour follows exactly the same itinerary, however has a larger group size and sightseeing is operated in multiple languages. We do sell this larger group tour at a lower price and as such we would like to offer you a refund to compensate for these differences. We will be writing to you shortly to discuss this refund and to get it processed for you. Kind Regards,

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Visiting the ancient sites - too many to list individually

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

That it's a very 'full on' trip and busy throughout. I would definitely recommend adding an additional day in Athens at the end (as we did) to allow a visit to the National Archaeological Museum and other sites in Athens itself.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We didn't realise until we got to Athens that the tour parts of the trip were 'subcontracted' to a local tour company. In our case, this worked very well (see below), but reading some other reviews on Trip Advisor, this did not seem to be everyone's experience.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Absolutely fabulous. We had a truly wonderful guide who put real enthusiasm into her presentations, was incredibly knowledgeable about all the sites and ancient Greek history and was able to answer every question asked.
