1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The variety and beauty of the country stands out. From Murchison Falls in the north, plains of Ishasha in the south and mountain forest in the south west, the landscape was stunning. The joy of trekking to see mountain gorillas will stay for a lifetime.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Pack light. Layers of clothes and wear and wash when able. Take small $ notes for paying porters and tipping. Change about $150 into small local notes. 20,000 schillings - about 5 is a good tip for a tracker, park ranger. ALWAYS use a porter and take a local walking stick if asked. Using a porter helps spread the income generated by tourists and helps on tough, altitude treks. Porters only get used about once a month, so a $15-20 income plus tips is a great source of income to them.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Certainly helped the locals. However, water was always in plastic bottles as local water not the best. So I hope they recycle them.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

A fantastic, tailor-made trip. Well paced, varied. Excellent accommodation. Brilliant, friendly staff. Excellent food throughout. Tough, but rewarding trekking. Easy and comfortable local flight connections saved long road transfers. Thoroughly recommend the company who put the trip together. Kevin Nicholson made sure we got the most out of our trip given our interests and activity levels. Excellent Karibu Guest House in Entebbe makes a wonderful base, with great staff and excellent food and standards. Wonderful, smiling, happy people...respectful and friendly.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Seeing the Gorillas in the impenetrable forest.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Go to the gym, as the Gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking is very physical.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes - at least one the places we stayed at provided/supported a local playground for the local children.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Fantastic definitely would recommend this operator, we met lots of other UK tourists whilst we were in Uganda and would say that our holiday organisation and information seemed better than the various other companies, the other tourist were travelling with. We were initially a little nervous as the company were based in Uganda and not being a UK company, with regard to transferring money.
