1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

It was an all good self drive adventure which we enjoyed.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Some of the roads are to say the least difficult to drive and a bit hairy. It was fine for us but if not confident driving think twice.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Many areas looked run down and in need of income so we can or may have helped.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Our only stressful time was at the start. Our ferry arrived 1 hour early at Patras. Not realising our car was going to be dropped off we had no idea where to go or what to do. The phone numbers we had were not great for the company so when we saw the car turn up were happy. All good after that.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Walking to the southern most point of mainland Greece and the wonderful spring flowers everywhere.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be clear where you want to go and ensure the itinerary suits you by dealing directly with the agents in Greece

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

In so much as the Peloponnese depends on tourism, yes: in all other ways no, all those hire cars, tour buses add to degrading the environment.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We loved the place but too many visitors to most classical sites and museums.

Dear Penny, thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. It was real pleasure creating your journey to Southern Greece. We just like to add a few things about the responsible character of this tour: Peloponnese depends not only on tourism but on agriculture and livestock, so visiting the area benefits locals in several ways. Tourism professionals (direct impact) and producers via the consumption of local products offered in most restaurants and hotels. We use small-scale hotels, traditional guest-houses and typical pansions. All the accommodations are family-owned. Some of them are "green" hotels since they have adoptadopted environmentally friendly practices. For the self-drive itineraries, as this holiday is, we provide our guests with hire cars, always of new technology with limited gas emissions and from reliable local companies. During this tour, the travellers have the occasion to visit 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Visiting the archeological sites and museums, be it cultural highlights or less advertised but of major importance places, helps to the restoration and preservation of the monuments but also to the maintenance of local people's jobs in the sites; by paying the entrance fees. We hope to have the honor to design your next adventure to our beautiful country. Thank you!
