1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

We enjoyed the energy and colors of Kathmandu and the serenity of the river safari at Chitwan. The visits to Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Kwa Bahal Temple and the World Peace Pagoda were especially memorable.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be sure all activities are operating and have been confirmed. Be cognizant of incorrect charges on your tea house bills if you are trekking.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Community support and environmental conservation were evident at Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge, constructed with local materials. They showcase the rescued elephants by including a visit with them during your river safari sundowner. Also, our walk through the Asan Bazaar included food stops that benefitted local people.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Overall, our holiday was good. Our guide in Kathmandu, Treelo (spelling?) always made sure that we ate food that had been prepared hygenically, which we appreciated. Our hiking guide Dhan, was able to match our ability levels to the itinerary and adjust as needed. Drivers for transfers were on time and polite. The hotels selected, especially in Kathmandu, were well located and comfortable. Our frustrations arose from two areas: 1) the Neydo Monastery activities apparently were not confirmed, and they were not offering the items outlined in our itinerary. A call to the emergency number to try to rectify the situation resulted in many discussions with an employee who seemed unempowered and unable to help. We had no confidence in her, so had to reach out to UK office to get assistance. A credit for the day was granted, so I thank you for doing the right thing in that regard. 2) Our tea house charged us for our room and for tea we did not drink. The room charge was included in our payment to the company. While our guide refunded the room charge to us, I am uncertain why they would do business with this tea house, when there are many in the area. When reflecting on the trip, we say it was a mixed experience.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with our team, we're so pleased that overall you had a good trip however we note and apologise for the operational issues you experienced. I know that Ed has been in touch with you regarding these. We have discussed the problems in some details with our team in Nepal and whilst it would have of course been far better that they could have been avoided on your trip, we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that they don't happen again. We hope to be able to assist you in planning your future travels.
