Reviews for Sabah & Sarawak holiday in Borneo

review 20 Sep 2011

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

It would have to be watching newly hatched baby turtles on the beach at sunset on Seligan Island or the wild orangutan mother and baby on the walk to the Gomatong Caves.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be prepared to dress for all weathers from heavy rain to bright sunshine.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes - wildlife tourism provides local people with an alternative source of employment and income which in turn means they don't have to cut down their rainforest.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was an amazing wildlife adventure - I feel very fortunate to have seen freshly hatched baby green turtles and wild orangutans which could become extinct in our life time if we do not do something to save their habitat. Local people were welcoming and very friendly. I could not find fault with our trip.
