1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The diversity of Morocco - from the cities of Fez, Meknes and Marrakech through to the High Atlas, Sahara and the oasis of Skoura. Amazing scenery and friendly people - and awesome accommodation.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

The long drives are worth it - you see the most amazing things.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Definitely benefited local people - from our wonderful driver and guide Mustapha through to the guides in the cities and villages and our visits to local craft and art cooperatives. We also spent time meeting mountain people and having tea.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

An amazing experience especially with teenagers. Incredible diversity, beautiful scenery, warm people and stunning arts and crafts.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Camping at Erg Chigaga dunes.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Read up about the region well and plan the holiday once you know what activities you want to do rather than just going down the touristy route.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes absolutely. Right from hiking in Atlas Mountains to visiting kasbahs, staying in riads, shopping in local souks and buying good from local co operatives benefitted the local people.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent trip. Will definitely be visiting the beautiful country again.

Thank you, Priti! It was a pleasure to host you and your lovely family here in Morocco. We are delighted that you enjoyed the tour so much and hope that you managed to pack away some sunshine to take back to the UK with you. All the very best from Rachel, Kassim and Abdou. Looking forward to seeing you again in 2019. Inchallah!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

We returned a few days ago from an absolutely wonderful 8-day trip to Morocco organised by our tour operator. We wanted to show our children (11 and 13 years old) a different culture and new landscape, in a safe environment. Morocco was a great choice for this, and our tour operator was a fantastic company to travel with. We started out in Marrakech, and travelled to the Atlas Mountains for 2 nights at the beautiful L'Oliveraie de Maghira: lovely grounds and pools, indigenous tortoises, and resident flamboyant chef. Really family-friendly place, voted by the children as their favourite hotel. From here, we were picked up by the marvellous Abdoul, who was our guide for the next 4 days, driving us down to the Sahara and back again. He was very patient with the varying levels of car-sickness from various members of the family, his off-road driving skills were impressive, and he knows the desert like the back of his hand. We definitely recommend a night of wild-camping and camel-trekking. Watching the sun set from the top of Erg Chegaga was a highlight of the holiday. Our camel-handlers managed to rustle up a 3-course meal for us from fresh ingredients in the middle of nowhere - amazing! On the way back north, we stopped for a night at Kasbah Azul in Agdz. Wonderful for a taste of real luxury as a contrast to the wild-camping. Glyn votes for this one as his favourite hotel, as "this is where James Bond would stay if he was travelling through Morocco". From here, back to Marrakech, and our 2 final nights at Riad Samsli. This was my favourite, for its lovely staff, soothing courtyard, friendly house-tortoises, and the best tagine of the trip. We did a city walking tour with the most knowledgeable man in Marrakech (Saeed), haggled in the souks, experienced the evening delights of the Jemaa el Fna, and managed to squeeze in a hammam and henna tattoos before having to leave.

Rachel responded to my initial emails promptly, and produced an excellent itinerary for us. She gave us useful travel tips, and kept in touch during our holiday to check that all was going well. I can't recommend Rachel and her team highly enough! We were looked after so well at every stage of the holiday, and Rachel had selected a perfect mix of activities and some fantastic accommodation. We will all have some amazing Moroccan memories for a very long time to come.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Our trip to the desert was certainly memorable and enjoyed very much by us all.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Take lots of cash because you will want to shop, but many places don't take cards. Also don't buy at the first shop, you will see the same things along the way, and it's really worth getting prices from a few places before you start the inevitable haggling process!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Although sadly, not very environmental due to the air travel and car journeys, but we did ride a camel and took a pony and trap ride too!! We'd like to think that we helped the local people by buying our souvenirs from women's co ops where possible. We also felt this was a respectful form of tourism, having local people to guide us and by staying at locally run, smaller independent raids.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We really enjoyed the whole experience, and it was excellent with three teenagers too. They enjoyed all the different aspects of our trip and we feel that they learnt about the Moroccan culture along the way. Highly recommended.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The holiday was really nice, all of it, but probably the best memory has been staying in Denmate and walking around those hills/mountains. It was just amazing, maybe because it was not peak season we were alone and loved every minute of it!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

If you want to visit high mountains Denmate is not the place as it is quite low. We liked it because with children it was easy but then we felt that we were missing out and wanted to add another daily excursion from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains and that was a very good choice. Much more dramatic landscape and proper mountains.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, I felt it did. There were no big tourism chains or organisations. We ate at local restaurants when we could and used local guides.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Really really good!

review 27 Nov 2010

My husband and two children aged 11 and 8 recently returned from an absolutely fantastic holiday with this tour operator. We were really impressed in how intimate and professional the tour was. Everything went smoothly but was also flexible enough, to allow us to spend more or less time on what we really wanted to do. We loved the Sahara Desert, the High Atlas Mountains, the zest of Marrakesh city, and our cooking class. Our children loved the sand boarding, decorating pottery with henna, the music and jokes around the campfire and the unique opportunity to actually collect fossils from a hill range. We would highly recommend Rachel, and her team Ahmed and Abdoul. It is a once in a lifetime experience!
