1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
There were so many highlights that it is too difficult to pick out just one. The hikes were challenging but manageable and gave me a great sense of satisfaction on completion. The small villages were beautiful and the history fascinating. My guides were knowledgeable and also excellent company.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Even though the hikes are graded only moderate in difficulty, it is a good idea to have proper walking boots for them. The region of Transylvania has so much history that is would be wise to do some preliminary reading so the information you get on the tour has a context.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Most definitely. We stayed in locally owned accommodation and ate food from the region. I was given a non-plastic re-usable water bottle and we filled up our water supplies from a natural spring in one of the small villages.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was excellent. The landscape constantly took my breath away and the history of the region, reflected in the buildings, was fascinating. In addition, I ate some great food on my trip. My guides were friendly and well-informed and made the whole trip a real pleasure.Holiday Reviews
