Reviews for Family teenager holiday in Peru

review 11 Aug 2015

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The camping, food and walking through the Sun Gate and seeing Machu Piccu are a few of my many highlights. Our guide, Reni was terrific and the family we travelled with were super. The holiday gradually gears you up for the big trek, you acclimatise in Cusco before exploring the Sacred Valley and attempting the mountain bike ride.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

The accommodation is on the whole fairly basic, with one or two quirky gems, but we weren't expecting the hotel in Agua Calientes to be so dire. As we walked to the end of the railway track after spending three nights camping and desperate for a shower, it was a real let down. It was noisy and uncomfortable with freezing water - but the staff were really helpful.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

There is a benefit to the locals by following the advice of the holiday company and our guide we tipped directly and ate in restaurants that supported their charitable work. The impact to the environment was minimal, we used our own water bottles, took all litter back and followed the rules in order to protect the historical sites.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was a fab holiday, non-stop adventure.
