1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The Flinders is a very dramatic park and one that invites you get out and walk. Wilpena Pound is a rock fortress, a piece of land enclosed of each side by high cliffs with just one route in. Inside their are lovely walks through huge gums - its a very tranquil and relaxing place. Staying at Rawnsley Park, a working Merino Sheep Station, was a real treat. We stayed in one of the Eco Villas, and the highlight was lying in bed and pushing a button that withdrew a blind so that the night sky was visible. Lying there in total silence watching shooting stars was a real highlight of the trip. The owners of Rawnsley Park - Tony & Julie - were very warm and friendly. We'd recommend booking a sundowner drive up into the hills above the Station. Next year they will be opening a private house, an old farmstead nearby called Akapena. We were lucky enough to see the development and restoration work in progress - it looked really lovely! We enjoyed the journey up and back from Adelaide too. Stopping at the Cellar Doors in the small and intimate vineyards in the Clare Valley was very enjoyable!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Rawnsley Park are very environmentally conscious, our villa had lovely big thick walls filled with hay bales for insulation. Water conservation is a big issue throughout Southern Australia and a big effort had been made to ensure we were aware of this.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

This short trip is a wonderful introduction to the Flinders and one I'd recommend highly.
