1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The barge was wonderful with great and comfortable accommodation and ensuite. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food delicious as well as beautifully presented. Very pretty scenery on the bicycle ride too. We also had a fabulous group on board with us from Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Germany, USA, Canada and Holland.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

If you don't like city biking, this trip is not for you. Although there wasn't a lot of city cycling, there was enough to scare the faint of heart - cars parked on the right, then you on the bike and cars, buses, trucks passing on your left. I nearly had a heart attack. If you can't keep a constant speed of 15 km or more this trip isn't for you. If you rent an e-bike you will be able to do it.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Nothing significant.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Loved it!

Many thanks for your feedback and we are really happy to hear that you enjoyed the trip in Holland and Belgium. We always appreciate your comments as these are important to help us improve trips and in this case documentation for the future. We were sorry to hear that you felt rushed on the trip. This tour is graded introductory and the route is almost flat, but we have discussed this with our guides, so that they understand that still they need to ensure the pace is suitable for all members of the group. We have been running this trip for 15 years now, and have always felt that travelling on a barge and by bike is a great way to enjoy travel with a limited effect on the environment. We also would like to note that we only employ local people and source food locally and for every $ spent, it goes directly into the local economy. We hope you will join us again in the future. Thank you

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Cycling through the lovely Dutch and Belgian countryside.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Cycling 50 km per day is much easier than you think!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Generally this was an environmentally low impact holiday in that our part was cycling and our tourist money of course benefits individuals and the economy in a postive way.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Very relaxed pace and enjoyable. The guide, the food, the service and the staff were all outstanding.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Living and travelling on the barge Fiep. The crew, accommodation and food were excellent. Amsterdam, Ghent and Antwerp were great. Was disappointed with Bruges - too touristy!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be prepared for the wind in Holland which made cycling more difficult than expected.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes because we were travelling by boat and bicycles so not polluting the roads and adding to traffic.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Enjoyable but felt that the leader lacked basic skills and 24 in a cycling group was too many, particularly when we were negotiating towns. There should have been two groups of 12.
