1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The most memorable and exciting parts of my holiday were the day spent as an elephant trainer with Thai Elephant Home (awe inspiring), visiting the mountain temple Doi Suthep (absolutely stunning), lighting lanterns with the novice monks of Wat Pan Tao during the full moon of Loy Krathong, chatting with monks at Wat Chedi Leung, wandering around the night markets, visiting the Hill Tribe community, and without a doubt chatting with Luke, Son, and local Thai people at every opportunity.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Go with an open mind & heart. As my first trip to Thailand, Central Chiang Mai was far more hectic than I expected or imagined. That said, the local Thai people are very open and kind. I had numerous fascinating conversations with local Thai people about their lives in Chiang Mai and they were more than happy to recommend interesting places to visit and things to do. On a more practical level - sunscreen, insect repellent, and some small waterproof bags for your cameras during visits to the forest for elephant training & zipline tours are a must! Chiang Mai is a very compact city, which is quite easy to navigate by foot. Enjoy, relax, and have at least one proper Thai massage!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes! For many half or day trips, we had full minivans, the drivers were Thai, and every staff member I met was also Thai. During the day spent at the Thai Elephant Home & Flight of the Gibbons zipline tour, we received a very interesting overview of the organization, how they support conservation, and try to minimize their environmental impact. (The biggest drawbacks from eating "street food" was the Styrofoam waste.)

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Exactly what I needed and when I needed it most!!! The staff of Puripunn & organizers of the Life Change Program are very welcoming and some of the kindest and warmest people I have ever met! I agree, "I am reborn! Simply the best holiday I have ever had!"

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The whole holiday was extremely memorable. Working with Chrissy and Alex who run the Lifechange programme in Chiang Mai was the best gift that I have ever given myself. I had been 'hmming and ahhing' for a while about where to go for a well deserved break and I was also very anxious about travelling on my own. I discovered my holiday to Thailand through responsibletravel however still felt quite nervous about holidaying to a part of the world that was soo far away. Chrissy was extremely supportive and provided me with all the information that I needed to feel confident that I had made the right decision to fly to Thailand and do the Lifechange programme. I did go over my budget however every penny and BAHT spent was well worth it. Chiang Mai is beautiful, clean, has lots of fun things to do but even more importantly, as a female solo traveller it felt very safe. The Puripunn hotel that I stayed in exceeded my expectations, it was beautiful and the staff were very helpful, polite and kind. The hotel deserves and award! I went to the Patara Elephant farm and owned an elephant for a day, words can not describe how fantastic this experience was. Being someone who has never spent much time with animals I was surprised to fine how involved I got with the elephants, I definitely hove a new found respect for them and the staff at the Patara Elephant Farm.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

If you are looking for an inspiring, fun holiday that is full of culture, Chiang Mai is the place to go. If you are looking for luxurious sanctuary with excellent service and without an uptight atmosphere, stay at the Puripunn Baby Grand Boutique. If you are sick of the doom and gloom that is so easily absorbed in your busy working life, visit the Patara Elephant Farm. And if you want a truly positive life changing holiday, that will help you gain clarity on life and seek your own happiness, definitely go on the Lifechange programme with Chrissy and Alex. If you are looking for a positive lifechanging ex.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

It is hard to say how local people benefited from my holiday however I'm sure that I helped their economy through tourism. I was respectful of the Thai culture and only ever dined at restaurants serving Thai food (No McDonalds/Burger King for me). I had several massages and paid several different local people for this service and I used local Thai transportation 'Tut tut' and cycles to get around which also provided business for the local people.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I wish I could have stayed for longer, 10 days was great but I could have easily done a week. No matter what age you are (I am 27), this holiday will have something special for you. I would particularly recommend it to solo travellers, couples and small groups. I have already recommended this holiday to family and friends. This is a truly amazing life changing/affirming experience.
