1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Inca trail and Machu Picchu.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Allow some chill time between doing as was well rushed as our programme and we had an extra day in Machu Picchu.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Inkaterra choices certainly seemed to want to be more conscious of the environment.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Need a holiday as a lot fitted in - think home stay in lake Titicaca should be re titled as more like a b&b with no heating which we v much enjoyed but think the home stay title gives a different impression.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The Andean explorer train ride from Cusco to Lake Titicaca was an excellent way to see many aspects of Peru from the city suburbs through the slums then farming communities, through the middle of market towns and past the spectacular backdrop of the Andes. The train ride was a real piece of luxury after the hard work of the Inca Trail.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

I cannot praise enough the porters and guides who took such good care of us on the trail, on the last night of camping it is something of a ceremony for the porters to gather to say goodbye and receive their tips individually from us, we gave 50 nuevos sol to each porter and 100 to the cook, I don't feel that we were given correct advice on tipping.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The Amantani family that we stayed with (Walter and Vilma) welcomed us with open arms and treated us as honoured guests, I hope that our stay was of some financial benefit to them, we brought all Vima's hats anyway!

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Our trip went very smoothly after an initial hiccup when our travel co-ordinator wasn't aware that our Andean Explorer train tickets hadn't been confirmed just a few days before departure, somehow they managed to get it sorted I'm pleased to say as the train trip was fantastic. There were no problems with any travel arrangements, the guides and porters were second to none the hotel staff at the Casa Andina Plaza, Cusco were particularly friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this operator to anyone but keep in regular contact with your co-ordinator to make sure everything is happening.
