Difficult to choose - so many and varied sites and experiences. The palace in Gondor, the stelae in Axum, the awesome views and baboons in the Simien mountains, the amazing historic engineering of the rock churches, the simplicity of the rural farming - All enriching to behold.
Do it! The operator was efficient, punctual and employed good guides whose knowledge seemed to increase as the tour progressed.
Read the guide books (Bradt is excellent) either before or to refer to during the trip for enhanced appreciation.
Good that the guides took note of our interests and adjusted visits to include places of particular interest, e.g. arranging a visit to a Fair Trade jewellery producer in Addis Ababa. Good to stay in smaller, local establishments in the rural communities.
Also good that the guides dealt with and advised about children selling trinkets when they should have been in school!
Extremely good. Well thought out and very good value for money.
