Tailor made husky safari in Wild Taiga, Finland
The most memorable part was meeting the dogs, steering the sled and the complete change of scenery and fresh air. The chance to sample local food (moose, reindeer, berries) which was mostly excellent. (more)Katherine Stuart
Husky sledding across a frozen lake just before sunset was the most memorable part of the holiday (more)James Hamand

Bali eco lodge bungalows in Indonesia
I hesitate to write this review for selfish reasons. Why? Because this holiday is so wonderful I'd rather keep it a secret! Situated on the southern slopes of Mt Batakaru in remotest Bali, this place is a pocket of paradise, far removed from the ravages of the 21st century. Having spent a week there I did not want to leave. (more)Daphne Donkin
Most memorable was walking through the rice-fields... It was just great. (more)Astrid Dello

Mercantour self catering gite, France
A really worthwhile and memorable holiday: the self guided walks were well planned and gave us a great idea of the locality; the food was very good and the garden(s) excellent for relaxing on our days off. We were given a very warm welcome and a friendly stay. (more)Jon Nay
Amazing 360 degree views on the walks in the Maritime Alps and the relaxed but informative approach of our guide Mel. The gite is very comfortable and well equipped and the food which was prepared by Liz was delicious and varied. (more)Cathy Wiggins
The most memorable part of the holiday was the trip to Col de Fenetre (mountain pass between France and Italy, ca 2400 m ab. s. l.) where we admired numerous chamoises, marmots and even ibexes. (more)Jan Maca

It was a wonderful holiday which I have been recommending to everyone I meet! The highlights were the elegant pink nuns we met along the way wielding a double handed saw to cut down some trees. The village family we visited, seeing their house and meeting their neighbours sharing tea with them all and trying on their national costumes. (more)Janette Gledhill
We loved our holiday. The mixture of culture, wildlife (particularly the birds at Inle lake)interesting places to stay and excellent street food was just what we needed. I travel a lot for work and this was just the contrast I needed. (more)Liz Ollier
From £1625 excluding flights
Cirali beach holiday, Turkey
One of the main reasons we picked Cirali as our holiday destinations was to see the sea turtles, or as the locals know them, the Caretta...We were honoured to watch the turtle's arduous journey down to the sea, just as the sun was beginning to rise. It was exactly like the natural history documentaries, only without the commentary from David Attenborough! (more)Amy Pickard
Most memorable was sitting in the shade having a fantastic breakfast looking straight out onto the beach in glorious sunshine and swimming with turtles on a day out in a local fisherman's boat (more)Anna Bradley
Brilliant for a honeymoon. Perfect place to relax, enjoy each others company and great food. The sea is great for swimming as it gets deep quickly.... you don't have to wade out for miles! (more)Laura Smith

History, culture & wildlife of India holiday
The most exciting part was not on the original programme. We asked Rajat to give us somewhat more nature and less culture. He arranged for us to spend a day and two nights in a resort on the Kabini Lake, across from the Nagarhole National Park. On a boat safari at dusk, amidst myriad birds and beasts, we saw a male tiger emerging muddily from the river, slinking into the jungle. (more)Robin Fox

The elephant safari, or swimming in the Indian Ocean at sunset were the most memorable parts of the holiday (more)Emma Coleman
From £1825 including UK flights
Philippines tailor made holiday
Memorable parts? The Alona Palm Beach is a very well run beach-side resort in Panglao Island, Bohol, definitely recommend it to anyone. The setting, the management, villas, pool and the restaurant were very good - but at a price. Another highlight is Palawan. Apart from the snorkelling and diving in El Nido, a whole island is a gem - it is all still covered by rainforest, a lot more wild then even Borneo with its oil palm plantations. A Bambua resort and organic farm in Sabang - definitely... (more)Andrey Zvoznikov

Cubans are very friendly and open and will invite you into their homes. (more)Hilary Welch

Memorable parts? We traveled as a family and moved every couple of days so ever day brought something new and was memorable. What was exciting about this holiday was learning about other cultures and meeting people living in a variety of different ways. But as a family, the favorite experience was riding an elephant. Tips? Take plenty of hand sanitiser for when you are out and about and some toilet rolls too. Food is very cheap, eat out! Don't eat at the Sandesh Prince hotel in... (more)Gentian Bolt

Honeymoon Holidays and Honeymoon Tours

Weddings can take up a lot of time and energy which is exactly why you should choose a honeymoon that allows you to relax and enjoy each others company. It is worth doing some research on your honeymoon ideas as (hopefully) it will be a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Most travel agents offer a selection of honeymoon holiday packages and will be able to discuss fulfilling your requirements.

The most important thing is to decide what you want from your honeymoon, whether it is lazing in the sun by a pool, exploring interesting cities, or learning a new skill. There are many honeymoon ideas out there; you just need to find one that suits both your personalities. When discussing the honeymoon holiday package in your chosen destination you should to be sure of the climate, language, currency, local customs, visa requirements and immunization advice.

Some couples prefer to steer away from the classic honeymoon holidays, such as the beach destinations like the Maldvies and Mauritius, particularly those who can’t afford to splash out on expensive, two-week-long honeymoons. Honeymoon holidays can be taken closer to home, you can rent out a quaint UK country cottage for a secluded romantic break. Or you can take honeymoon tours in Europe, staying on back-to-nature camp sites in luxurious yurts which offer comfortable beds and starlit nights. There are more alternative honeymoons than you can dream of; it is definitely a good idea to explore the options before you book.

Exotic Honeymoon Destinations

For those craving exotic honeymoon escapes, which offer a truly different experience to your daily lives, it is worth separately jotting down what you envision from the exotic honeymoon destinations you are considering. Is it rainforest you want? Or desert? Or untouched beaches? Or weird and wonderful wildlife?

Some of the best honeymoon destinations in the world can combine at least two of these. Borneo, for example, offers exotic honeymoons where you can stay in rustic lodges on beautiful beaches, see orangutans and turtles and take a jungle cruise, away from the crowds. Sri Lanka, could be considered one of the best honeymoon destinations in the world as it is a beautiful island in the Indian Ocean, perfect for a romantic getaway, that offers relaxing beaches, great culture and a real taste of wildlife and adventure. Other favourite exotic honeymoons include India, the Caribbean and Thailand.

Adventurous Honeymoons

If you prefer the idea of adventure honeymoons, consider Peru, where you can explore the Sacred Valley and the legendary Machu Picchu. You can even combine this trip with a visit to the enchanted islands of the Galapagos, famous for unique flora and fauna. Other adventurous honeymoon ideas include taking a safari in Africa, where you can experience the pristine wilderness regions of Botswana, Kenya and Tanzania. It is worth researching all types of holidays for adventure honeymoon ideas as most agencies can tailor make any holiday to suit your unique needs.

Weddings Abroad

Looking into weddings abroad is a good idea. Choosing a foreign setting for your big day can often save you thousands of pounds and getting married overseas can often be very romantic. Try St Lucia for a tropical paradise setting for your big day, or Tobago, which is ideal for a beach reception with an ocean backdrop and romantic sunsets.

Another popular alternative to the high stress Western weddings is to tie the knot in Thailand, Chiang Mai weddings have an authentic Thai rural flavour, set in tropical gardens flanked by the Royal Forest. Sri Lanka is also a great destination for weddings abroad. The wedding ceremonies are conducted according to Buddhist religious and cultural rites going back thousands of years and are a colourful vibrant experience. For a really unique experience, you can opt for a wedding in Lapland, Finland, where you can hold the ceremony in a candlelit igloo or stand before an ice altar in the middle of a frozen lake.

Honeymoon Gift Lists and Honeymoon Vouchers

Many couples choose to have a honeymoon gift list which allows friends and family to contribute toward their dream honeymoon. Alternatively you could request travel agent’s honeymoon vouchers in your guest invitations. The advantage of using honeymoon vouchers as wedding lists is that you can select from hundreds of holidays to suit all tastes and budgets, ranging from luxurious beach retreats, African safaris and iconic adventures through to cosy English B&Bs and European villas. So you'll have plenty to choose from when deciding where to go on your honeymoon.
