the amazing things you'll be doing
It is little wonder that heaps of thank-you letters flood in from around the globe every year addressed to this little guesthouse. Its cheerful owner, Akif, infuses the hotel with his laid-back charm and warm charisma. Not only so you feel at home here, you are made to feel like part of the family.

This is a guesthouse born of love and genuine passion. Ideally located directly on Olympos Beach, the accommodation is tranquil and offers the ultimate relaxing beach break. With only 5 wooden chalets, it feels exclusive but never pretentious.

All produce is local and fresh, the breakfast is so rich, our guests often photograph it, even the bread is baked on site.

Occasionally Akif's mum drops by with her home made cakes, jams and other delights to add yet more vibrancy to the food. Evening meals are candle lit and served on the beach patio. Breakfast and dinner are included in the price.

Olympos BeachThe charming wooden chalets here all have modern ensuite facilities and a mini bar. Air conditioning is standard and your own private porch and hammock add to your relaxation and comfort. The cottages are set in a lush garden with a diverse array of local flora, including mulberry, orange, lemon, olive and banana trees. Perhaps the most appealing thing of all is that the guesthouse is situated on Olympos Beach. Go slightly off-season and you'll feel as though the whole beach is yours alone.

Surrounded by glorious mountains and blessed with crystal clear waters, the beach of Olympos is so large it never feels crowded even in peak season. The beach is under protection as it is a nesting ground for sea turtles. As such, you will not find any banana boats or paragliders anywhere in sight. Heaven!
facilities
The five chalets all have a minibar, en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and a private porch. All the chalets have a hammock. You are surrounded by a lush garden full of fruit trees that guests are welcome to pick. Our chef prepares great food everyday, the breakfast is large and imaginative with plenty of olives, cheeses, muesli, fresh yogurt, honey, a diverse array of home made jams, fresh farm eggs and more.

Evening meals are usually 4 courses with plenty of salads and vegetables sourced from local organic farmers. Fresh bread is baked on site everyday. The guest house is located directly on the beach with no roads to cross, so it is family safe.

Activities: Cycling (bikes provided free), beach, nature walks, hiking, archaeological ruins, relaxation. We have now added wireless broadband internet for laptop users.

travellers' tales
This holiday was booked because we all needed to relax and enjoy some sun. This holiday really delivered. The people were great, the location fantastic and my kids were really impressed that the sea was warm! (more)
how this holiday makes a difference
Sea turtles near Cirali beach accommodationWe donate £10 from your booking fee to the Ulupinar Conservation Coop who protect and monitor the activities of local sea turtles. The beach is a popular nesting site for the species known as Caretta Caretta. Protecting them may also save the area from major development. There are few places left in Turkey, perhaps the whole Mediterranean, that are as pure and as beautiful as Olympos beach. We feel we must do anything we can to help preserve it. In 2007, we will present the conservation coop with a new GPS system and an infrared video camera to help document turtle activity. The beach is also home to various rare species of plants including Sand Lilies.

The accommodation is an independent boutique hotel that maintains high standards of responsibility with regards to its operation. Careful consideration has been put into constructing these cottages so that they work in harmony with their surroundings. All cottages are built entirely from wood. Food produce is mainly sourced from local organic farms. The village of Cirali has several farms that are certified organic! This hotel is family owned, family run and airport transfers are done by local people, born and raised in the village.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've lead the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
