From start to end, we were so well taken care of by our guides and drivers. A varied itinerary covering a wide variety of stunning landscapes, meeting wonderful people and the highlight, being there to experience it all during the Orthodox Christian Easter celebrations.
Let Eskinder be your guide. He answered all questions that we had before we got there, without any fuss, and along with his other guides (outside of Addis) was the most welcoming and knowledgeable of hosts.
Hopefully, any input into the local economy will benefit the people there and local guides and scouts were used in different areas and we certainly interacted with many local people as we walked around...and were even made very welcome to a wedding that we gate-crashed, whilst driving through a small village!
This went above and beyond all expectations. Such warm, beautiful people everywhere that we went. We ate well, saw and experienced incredible things: all wonderful. My favorite places to stay: Simien Lodge (so comfortable, with hot warer bottles to take to bed), Lalibela Lodge (beautiful views over the stunning town) and Gheralta Lodge. The Fasil Lodge in Gondar had the most warm and helpful hosts to look after us too.
