Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

The Corfu Trail is ran by a local non-for-profit trust and we include the trail fee for use of the trail as part of our package. This is re invested into maintenance and improvements to infrastructure. Our Tour Leader and local guides are keen to protect their island, actively promoting responsible tourism and ensuring that all waste is carried off the trail and litter pick along the way.
The tap water is safe to drink and we encourage travellers to take a reusable water bottle to fill up throughout the day, rather than adding to the number of plastic bottles used and to be carried.
As a travel company we are continually looking for ways to improve and are proud to be ‘Responsible in everything we do’. Education is key, and so all staff, Tour Leaders and partnering suppliers are trained in responsible and sustainable tourism. At our Head Office, we continually strive towards a sustainable and planet-friendly working environment, including having solar panels installed and a company commitment to reducing our plastic usage.
The Impacts of this Trip
We visit small ancient villages and stay in a mixture of accommodation, including family ran tavernas. These are typical Greek restaurants, often with rooms attached which are an integral part of the culture and help to retain the traditions of the island. Staying and eating in tavernas gives the group a great insight into local life, enjoying some delicious authentic food often accompanied by live music in the evenings.
Running this trip from April to October brings income to these villages, supporting small local guesthouses, shops and markets throughout the year, not just in the summer months.
As a company we have valuable and longstanding partnerships with UK charities Toilet Twinning and Send a Cow, plus many smaller initiatives and projects around the world. We’re members of the UK travel industry body AITO because we believe it’s important to share our knowledge and experience, as well as learn from other operators.
