CARBON REDUCTIONAs this is a hiking tour, the guests are travelling on foot and any transfers that are being operated are shared. We would recommend our guests opting for direct flights to Chania airport. In that way, they are reducing CO2, avoiding internal flights and getting to their hotel faster. The food is local-sourced and seasonal and the breakfast served includes a variety of local and traditional flavors like traditional Cretan pies with local cheeses and upon request there can be options for vegetarian or vegan breakfast.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
We believe that exploring the wild should go hand in hand with protecting it. As a company specialized in hiking tours, we are committed to preserving the natural landscapes, ecosystems, and wildlife that make our adventures possible. All the information that our guests will receive about this tour will be in digital format, reducing paper waste and protecting the trees. In addition, our company advises the hikers not to leave any signs of their passing behind. In other words, any trash should be carried with them and discarded in the appropriate bins. Our hikes follow established trails to prevent habitat disturbance and erosion. We observe wildlife from a respectable distance and never feed or disturb animals. Specifically, we let the guests know that they should keep minimum distances and not use camera flashes, in case they will meet an animal. We avoid single-use plastics and encourage guests to bring reusable bottles and containers with them. Lastly, the entrance fees to any of the gorges visited are going towards the conservation of each gorge.

LOCAL ECONOMYDuring the whole tour, the guests will get the chance to stay in family-owned accommodations like Molos Apartments in small towns and seaside villages. Most probably they will meet the owners themselves, have a cup of coffee with them or taste the breakfast made by their hands! We always try to partner with local businesses to support community sustainability.
Most of the hotel staff and the drivers are locals, which means that they can share information about the area or restaurant recommendations. Also, all the restaurants in the areas are locally owned and they serve seasonal and local sourced food.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY & DIVERSITY
All our employees and operating partners are from Greece and half of our staff are women working in all the posts. (drivers and office employees). This trip is LGBTQ+ friendly, as one of the core values of our company is that we respect every person regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation or nationality.
Hiking with us means leaving only footprints and taking only memories.
Together, we can protect the trails we lovefor today, and for generations to come.
