1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The other people in the group and the leader, Veriano, who listened to us and guided us on our daily adventures. The Due Torre Hotel staff were helpful, happy and interested in us.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Just do it.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Definitely, we stayed at a local hotel, ate in local eating places, travelled on busses and ferry’s

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

One the best I’ve had; a random group of people all enjoying the beautiful Amalfi Coast and the company of each other.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Chance to visit several lovely towns and cities in Apulia, specially staying in the cave hotel in matera

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Check the actual details of the trip carefully as I was a bit annoyed that a trip advertised as walks up to 6 miles (fine) actually had 2 of 8 miles (I don’t call that relaxed). However, I was able to leave out one long walk and enjoy visiting the town Instead.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Maybe … supported local businesses and employment, specially in Matera

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Good to very good. Nice hotels, tho one not very well located. Lovely places to visit, very well chosen. Shorter walks were lovely.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

It was truly wonderful seeing the countryside of Puglia with a local guide. The town's and villages in between were delightful and so far relatively low on tourists.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be prepared for very hot days. While an easy walk each day the sun was hot and made it more difficult.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes I think it did. We used local restaurants and transport. We were surprised how much plastic the locals used but we tried not to contribute to thst. We were careful to take our rubbish with us from our daily walks.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was really fantastic. I think it's a wonderful way to discover Puglia.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

I decided to go on the "Puglia and Matera walking..." holiday. Most memorable was the small township of trullis in Alberobella; and the ancient olive trees in the groves we walked through.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

a) Be aware that the first couple of days involves walking in unshaded areas and this can be unpleasant when the temperature is in the mid-thirties or higher b) The distance from the train sation in Matera to the Hotel Sassi is significant and much of it is on stony surface over which suitcases need to be carried - they can't be rolled.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Local economy was benefitted.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Extremely enjoyable.

We went in early October - be prepared for all weathers it can be wet and chilly.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes. The choice of small, locally run hotels and restaurants and our improvised picnics meant that our money was spent locally.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Each place we walked allowed us to absorb the feeling, the history and the culture of the country. It was great having a leader to look after us as we couldn't speak a word of the local language and knew nothing. We went to one beautiful, wild beach where a pine forest fringed the sand - it went on for miles and no one else was there - and the swimming was glorious! And the gorge was awe-inspiring .....

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be careful ordering your meal on your nights out - you only need ONE dish - not three! Make sure you have walking boots or shoes with a good grip, a light, breathable rain coat and a good back-pack. If you are single, the rooms are too small to share - take the single supplement - well worth your while. If you are vegetarian, be prepared for no vegetables! The markets are full of them but the restaurants dont serve them!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

YES - very good

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I really enjoyed it - nice way to get to absorb the vibe of a country and quite nicely low key
