1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
All the views were amazing but particularly the last day to Odeceixe. Great comraderie along the route with fellow walkers while still having plenty of quiet time. Route is not overly busy with walkers.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be aware of limited public transport to the start and end of the walk. Research options prior to booking flights to ensure you have enough time.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes. We were booked into locally owned hotels every night. The restaurants along the route were in quiet villages and benefitted from walkers. There is toilet paper in many locations along the route so it would be worth the guides highlighting this and telling future travellers to take their waste away with them for dumping in the next bin.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent. We loved every minute. The views were fantastic and it was great to get away from traffic and. Be immersed in nature and sea views.John Stinson review 3 Oct 2018
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Scenery ... Alantejo is a wonderful place. As beautiful as the Algarve but not developed.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be careful of the heat. We went in late September and the heat was too much sometimes ... 35 ish one day. I was told this is not normal for this time of year. It is recommended to take 1 & 1/2 litres of water on day 1 but I would recommend taking 3. As well, I wasn't aware of the amount of sand trials. Even at 88 meters up the cliff you are marching in 4 - 8 inches of sand. Day 1 of this walk is 90% sand, and the other days were 50% walking in sand. It makes it quite tiring.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes ...4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Dramatic cliff top scenery with rare aromatic plants growing in the sandy soil round the paths. Watching surfers in the beautiful bays and fishermen perched precariously on the cliffs. Unspoiled countryside and forests inland. The fantastic non-light polluted night sky at one of the places we stayed; we saw the milky way and a shooting star. The warmth of the local people. Other walkers we met en route from many different countries. Very good locally produced food.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Meals can be huge; often 1 main course, especially whole fish, will be enough for 2 people. Sometimes you can choose a small or large portion. You don't have to have the Couvert (e.g. olives, fish paste, cheese, bread) brought as a starter but be aware that it is not complimentary - you pay for what you eat). Everywhere was surprisingly green and each season has a different beauty, but if you wish to see storks on their cliff top nests and lots of flowers, go in Spring. Take time to look and absorb and enjoy! It's not a race! Cape St Vincent is very touristy and perhaps best seen from a distance, but it is in beautiful surroundings and the museum there about Portuguese maritime exploration is well worth a visit.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, we feel that we supported local businesses. Flying to get there isn't environmentally friendly, but we used public transport in the main while there and our own two feet.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent. Just go!Holiday Reviews
