1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The zodiacs were fun and exciting. I also loved seeing how M?ori language and culture is integrated into society. I would have liked more real conversations with local people.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
It’s best to be in shape to enjoy the hikes and outings. Bring waterPROOF raincoat and pants.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes the tour group was knowledgeable and supportive about conservation but the ship unfortunately uses diesel to run.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Overall very good. The staff, location and food were all fantastic. It was my first cruise and I felt a little confined by the schedule and inability to get off and wander. Also, even though they took some precautions (like giving us hand sanitizer every time we entered the dining room) I ended up getting COVID.Read the operator's response here:

With regards to your answer for question three, one of our key criteria when selecting our flagship Heritage Adventurer was her low fuel burn which, when coupled with monitoring weather conditions, calculating optimum travel speeds, regular servicing and a proactive maintenance programme, allows us to significantly reduce our fuel consumption and emissions. It is also worth noting that in opting to repurpose and extend the life of a proven and iconic expedition vessel, rather than commissioning a new build, we have greatly reduced our environmental impact.
We were sorry to learn you contracted COVID. Our highest priority is the safety and wellbeing of all aboard our vessels and, as such, Heritage Expeditions adheres to, and operates under, World Health Organization and Ministry of Health New Zealand regulations during our New Zealand voyages.
