Reviews for Galapagos conservation project
Joanna de Berry review 22 Sep 2026
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
So many memories for a lifetime, it is hard to choose. From glacier-topped volcanoes and crater lakes, to iguana-strewn beaches of Galapagos. We loved the home stay in a Quechua community, learning about their cusine, culture and crafts, and volunteered at an organic farm on San Christobal Island as people try to move the Galapagos towards more sustainable and environmentally protective food production. All accompanied by patience and kindness from our many guides, drivers and host families.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Take time to discuss the accomodation for the volunteering farm stay and whether it is right for you; everyone is different and for us it was out of our comfort zone. There could be alternatives.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, in particular it was clear that the Quechua homestay and community tour was locally run and beneficial. We were impressed by the women's associations, which were part of it.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
The best kind of travel: well organised, interesting, challenging and so very, very beautiful. Our planet is amazing.Holiday Reviews
