1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The camel ride and desert camp was special as was the walk in the Atlas Mountains

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Take plenty of sterling to change for dirham. Keep an eye on time changes after ramadan. Be sure you understand what is required of you from the walks.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes a lot of the stops were centered around co-operatives, and there were examples of the tour operator investing in the local communities. I feel they tried to live up to their ethos.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent holiday for all ages.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The walk through the Berber village.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be prepared for a couple of long journeys but worth it.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes. We took water bottles to be filled, ate at local restaurants, used local guides etc.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was an excellent full on holiday covering all the highlights of Morocco. We had an excellent local leader who went out of his way to make the holiday a great experience. Fully recommend this trip.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Camel ride and dawn in Sahara desert.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

There is no heating at the Atlas mountain accommodation. The tent stay experience in the desert is not what it is made out to be, as the authorities no longer allow camping in the actual desert. Instead, you stay in a tent 10 steps next to the hotel, with no heating and no ensuite facilities (you use the hotel facility next door).

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Interesting overview of Moroccan society and culture. Be prepared for moderate amount of trekking along donkey paths.

Read the operator's response here:

We would like to thank David for his review; we were pleased to read that he enjoyed his trip overall, especially the camel ride and spending dawn in the Sahara Desert. We are, however, very sorry that he was disappointed with some of the accommodations. As David touched upon, the local authorities have forbidden all camping inside the dunes for environmental reasons, which means that our Bedouin Camp is no longer located inside the dunes but is instead on the edge of the desert. Whilst we support the positive impact of these sustainability efforts, we are very sorry this experience was not as expected. We are currently looking at alternative sites to ensure satisfaction whilst also adhering to the regulations.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The visit to Kasbah Ait Benhaddou.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Don't underestimate how chilly the hotels can be - without any heating, the rooms get very cold during the evening. The food can get very repetitive, especially for vegetarians - you might want to bring something to liven it up, like Marmite. You will spend a lot of time on the minibus with some very long days travelling, so you may want to bring music, podcasts, books, etc.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Very difficult to tell.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Generally very enjoyable. We saw some fascinating historic sites, and some wonderful scenery. However, our guide tended to rush us from the sites rather too fast, and there was definitely too much hanging around in shops getting the heavy sell.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Going off the beaten track. The amazing tour guide Jerry who is a credit to the tour operator

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

This was a moderately challenging trek but most of us found it very hard. Would be helpful if the tour operator gave a clue about what this description meant (eg being able to use a step machine at speed for several hours)

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Definitely

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I would use this tour operator again and recommend it

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The camel ride into & out of the desert - not knowing whether I would survive the lurches down over the top of the dunes!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

If you for eg need to follow a particular diet (I need to eat high fibre foods) to make sure to buy enough in the supermarket in Fes at the start of the holiday, as the items may not be available elsewhere until you reach Marakech.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I enjoyed it, but it wouldn't be top of the list.
