1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Amazing sights and some wonderful hotels. Our driver and guides were really friendly and helpful. Driver did an amazing job - traffic, parking and roads have to be seen to be believed.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Think carefully about your itinerary. We ended up having 4 very full on/busy days in the first week and a few too many rest days in the second, with a final day just hanging around in a very expensive hotel near the airport in Delhi just waiting to fly home.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Tourism brings work to the area which will benefit the local people. Surprised however that even the drivers, who do an amazing job on those roads, are only on minimum wages.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
India is an assault on the senses in every possible way but it was overall an amazing experience. If I were to do it again I would revise the itinerary a bit and change the hotel in Udaipur. The Shiv Niwas Palace was good but rather tired and dated. We ate out one night at the Amet Haveli which although heritage was more modern and in a great location for both views and shops. Our first night at the Shiv Niwas we were also put in a terrible room which was certainly not of the standard paid for. I was however very impressed with the speed at which the tour operator responded to our complaint and resolved the issue.Read the operator's response here:
Hi Susan , I am glad that you enjoyed the trip . India is amazing! I am also glad that you felt that we resolved the situation in Udaipur quickly and to your satisfaction- it was unfortunate that the room initially given was not to our usual standards but we were pleased when you were upgraded to the Royal suite. When a guest is unhappy we always strive to make sure that we resolve as quick as we can and the guest's satisfaction is always our priority regardless of time of day , or day of the week. I hope that one day we can help you get to South Asia again and thank you for travelling with us.
