Reviews for Andros trail walking holiday in Greece

review 28 Oct 2020

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

We particularly liked the day 3 walk from Korthi to Chora. The walking was demanding but the views were spectacular and it was a good combination of villages and countryside. We also enjoyed the Chora to Batsi walk.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Ask about the hotels and the places you are staying. All our hotels were fine, basic and simple but there must be alternatives if you want something a bit better. Check the location - the first place we stayed was over 1km from the town and up a very steep hill. Also, if you’re travelling out of high season, ask what will be open. At our last stop, there was only a pizzeria open and we wanted Greek food.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We definitely did our bit for the local economy, if only because there were no other tourists there, presumably because of the pandemic. We also did a bit of pruning of vegetation overhanging the paths.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was a very enjoyable 10 days, with stunningly beautiful walking. All the pensions we stayed at were lovely and the proprietaires very friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this trip but would encourage potential bookers to thoroughly check where they are staying.
