1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The hike across the Chaukhi Pass: long but spectacularly beautiful.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Look forward to wonderful scenery in both countries and visits to many impressive monasteries. Make sure you sample the red wine in both countries.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Local restaurants and one cheese dairy benefited from our trade. As we travelled considerable distances in a diesel minibus it is hard to claim positive environmental impact. But a tour without the hiking would have been worse in this regard.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Thoroughly enjoyable. The itinerary was well planned, the scenery was great, the monasteries were fascinating, the food and wine were good and we has a great guide on the Armenian leg.

Wonderful hotels in remote villages.

Research your itinerary and have a good correspondence with the tour operator to find something customised for you.

Yes. Especially when we stayed in cottages in remote villages where tourism is the only income.
