1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The people, the food, scenery. Seeing Laos from many different perspectives - cities, villages, NGO's and history.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

The roads and heat make this a challenging bike trip. You really need to be a confident cyclist - preferably with mountain biking experience. the roads are very dusty, with a lot of gravel and pot holes are more like mini craters. There are also some long tough hills, made all the harder with these conditions and the heat. In some areas you can only eat like the locals so be prepared to do that. Some of the stays were basic - be prepared to be flexible - from tiny tents to lovely hotel with swimming pool.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

It was an education to see the NGOs and challenges of the Laos people, cycling obviously reduces the environmental impact. We cycled through many local villages. Hopefully bringing some tourism to these very underdeveloped areas in some cases will help for the future of Laos.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

To get a good insight into Laos way of life and its challenges cycling 400 kms gave us that. As well as cycling, we did a sunrise hike and also took an early morning balloon ride which added to the experience. It was a memorable, unique and great experience.
