1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Serengeti national park with Lions, cheetahs, leopards and other wildlife!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Take a good camera on your safari. You will take great pictures and make great memories. Abu, our friend and guide, is very good at getting you the best views.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, the host company is an Arusha, Tanzania, based company with local guides. We like the fact that the people working there are mindful of the environmental impact.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Great safari. We were five adults and had a blast. Our guide was very informative and patient with us. Special thanks to Ann. Answered all my questions and accommodated all the last minute changes when we could add our son-in-law to the trip and when our flight got cancelled the day before the trip started!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Being with animals in their natural habitat in the wild and experiencing vicariously their sense of freedom. We also encountered some surreal experiences such as having lions and a buffalo outside our tents (that was tightly zipped of course).

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

We customized this itinerary, so some of our experiences may not apply. Regardless, be prepared for anything, e.g. we encountered a huge storm one day that caused many tents to be flooded. Our vehicle was stuck in the 'mud of death'. Just accept everything with good humour and learn from the locals to take everything in their stride, for example, after a mass clean up after the storm, the staff in the resort celebrated by singing and dancing for guests, and even cutting a cake.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, definitely. All of the accommodations are run by locals. Our tour agency is a small local business. We were also impressed by our driver-guide's love for his people & the environment, often saving up food for local workers in the national parks in instances where we had too much in our lunch boxes.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent. From the start when I communicated with the Reservation Manager, I knew we were in good hands. She understood our desires perfectly and customized our tour meeting all our requirements. She even looked into minute details such as how much rest we would have, etc. The Driver-Guide the itinerary with precision, while doing his best to fulfil our hope to see the Big 5 and more. Although he was battling against the work of nature, his passion for the wild and knowledge of the places we visited brought him success.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Excellent safari, Made in Tanzania. Highlights included the Great Migration at Ndutu (best place to be in January), and massive elephant herds in Ngorongoro.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Worth trying this local host. Great service and great safari.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes it's well organised in Tanzania. It would be more sustainable if the roads in Serengeti were not scandalously eroded and flooded - we saw countless broken down 4x4s after heavy rains left the road impassable and rutted.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Top holiday - thanks!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Ann in the office and Abu on the road are an amazing team! Ann put together a great itinerary and was very patient with all my questions, and Abu made sure we had a great experience covering many kilometres over the 6 days. Our 3 teenage kids loved it. We felt cared for and special and loved having Abu join us each night on safari for dinner so we could learn more about Tanzania. We saw all the Big Five as well as so much more. Loved having picnics along the way. Favourite place was Ngorongoro Crater which was magical especially when we descended early morning and were surrounded by a herd of elephants.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

If you can stretch your budget to flying back to Arusha, do, as we did a lot of driving!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

When I started researching for this trip it was very important to me that a local company benefitted, not a travel agent in my own country. I felt comfortable making a booking because Responsible Travel had recommended the host company. We met Abu and Ann's family and could appreciate that our booking directly helped a local family, especially after the pandemic.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Fantastic. Thank you for a great end to 2023!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

I saw the big 5, plus cheetas, a serval and lots of other animals! It has been an incredible trip that I'll never forget.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Just trust Ann and Abu and communicate your needs/wishes! they know what they are doing and they will do everything to make you have an incredible time.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Definitely yes!!

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Going on a safari with this operator has been an incredibly amazing experience! Communication and organization was flawless and extremely easy: I just gave them a budget and the days I was available. Then I landed in Arusha and the magic happened. Abu is a fantastic experienced guide: not only he knows a lot (and he shares it all with you!)and he can spot all the animals, he also predicts their behaviour and it's always in the right spot at the right time. I found myself surrounded by elephants, a step away from 2 lions or with a leopard running under our car. We were always to first one to leave and last to come back, he was always up to go the extra mile just to make things happen. I had breakfast looking at zebras, lunch with the giraffes - everything was thought in details and yet there was room for a personal touch! I saw the big 5, learned Swahili words, always felt safe and had a lot of fun. I can't wait to travel with them again, I will never stop recommending them!
