1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

I enjoyed every day so it is hard to pick just one but my top three would be: cycling and Kapsia Cave on day one which was a relaxing introduction to the area/trip, then the trek through Lousios Gorge with the picnic at the end and, finally, visiting the Olympia site.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

The professional guides at many of the sites do help you gain a better understanding although some were easier to understand (i.e. a better grasp of English) than others. Only take a small bag when visiting the Museum in Athens as backpacks are not allowed and you have to queue to drop them off/collect them at the cloakroom - we visited on a 'free ticket' day so it was very busy.Cycle helmets are provided so you do not need to take your own.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Staying in Tripoli and Galaxidi we were able to use a different taverna/restaurant each night and they all served authentic Greek food, not just tourist menus.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was well paced and interesting, with a good balance of physical activity, visiting historical sites and having free time. From a personal point of view, things that could be added would be: an opportunity for experiencing Greek music and dance and maybe a chance to visit a beach for a swim.Apart from a hiccup with the airport pick -up and a communication misunderstanding around the need for cycle helmets, everything went smoothly and the accompanying guide had a professional approach and was very friendly and supportive.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Every day was memorable for different reasons, but the people made the whole trip special. Our guide and driver Dimitris was wonderful - super-organised, thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable about the area, the country and its history. Added to that were the warm welcome from everyone at the hotel in Tripoli, and fascinating tours from the family at the winery and the guide at the caves. If I had to pick some highlights: - the tours of Mycenae, Epidaurus, Olympia and Delphi - the visit to the winery which is organic, traditional and family-run - the museum in Tegea, new and really well set out - Lousios gorge with its wild flowers, the monastery visit, plus the picnic by the river

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Read up a little before going. Book the expert guides for the archaeological sites, they are wonderful plus they’re the only people authorised to give guided tours. Tripoli is not a tourist destination, despite its importance and historical role, but it's worth exploring to see the squares, gardens, monuments and churches. There are several good restaurants too. If you can, add time in Athens to visit the National Archaeology museum, many of the finds from sites you visit during the week are there. Be prepared for crowds at important sites, the acropolis in Athens in particular was really busy, even at 8:00 a.m., it rather spoiled the atmosphere.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Think it benefited local people, staying in small hotels, eating at many local restaurants and touring the winery. The winery is fully organic and always has been, definitely worth supporting as organic producers are rare, in Greece as elsewhere. The environmental impact is debatable since we travelled by car.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

A terrific and very full week, particularly fascinating for anyone interested in Greece, its history and heritage.
