The stunning scenery - Montenegro was so beautiful - way beyond what we’d expected.

Take exactly what they suggest with you - the weather is very changeable and things like sunscreen and rain jackets were both necessary!

Yes, the activities were all brilliant but run by small local businesses.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Fantastic!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Jumping off the boat and swimming in the beautiful Lake Skadar on the first evening we arrived. It got the holiday off to a great start after a day full of travelling. Also Camp Grab at the side of the Tara canyon...it was a very remote and wild location. The camp was extremely well run and their whole package, including the river rafting, really hit the spot

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

1) Don't eat for a month before you arrive...there's plenty of food. 2) Make sure you ask plenty of questions about kit before you arrive....many of the items on the generic kit list were not needed.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

It definitely supported local people. Our hosts were local people. The activity providers were local. Tourism is very important to the Montenegro economy. It was fantastic that a lot of the food was grown and produced very locally (e.g. vegetables grown in the hosts garden and fish caught in the lake). There was no fast food / packed food and consequently a lot less rubbish generated than we're used to in the UK. However, the amount of food was excessive and I'm not sure whether the significant left overs were used or wasted.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We had a good holiday. It was a real adventure, we loved all the activities and the kids enjoyed having some company their own age. It felt like we'd had a long break from work, despite the trip only being a week long.

Kayaking. Eating meals in the homes of locals and their local food. Sights and sounds of the wildlife. Matija, our amazing guide!

Be mindful that you will be sharing your day to day living space with others. Wear sport material clothing as it’s easy to dry off.

Benefitted local people. Supported conservation.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

9/10.
