1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Wild camping in the Okavango Delta, with game walks to see giraffes, hippos zebra and wildebeest. The team who looked after us there were fantastic.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

There is a lot of driving, mostly on rough roads, but the rewards make it all worthwhile - no pain, no gain!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

It definitely benefitted local people and supported conservation, not so sure about reduced environmental impacts as we made long haul flights to get there, used diesel, water etc.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Fantastic! We had a wonderful time, thank you for recommending this safari company.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

This itinerary was incredible - so varied, each park visited had its own special charm and animals to see. I loved the unique physical geography of Matopos as well as seeing rhinos in the wild up close and personal in Zimbabwe, but also the Moremi park area where we saw most different and endangered animals, and the peace of the Okavango delta

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Pack according to the month of travel. Late July was a great time to go also to see wild dog pups and hyena cubs, but for packing I could have used a down body warmer or jacket for early morning open 4WD safaris, though most places provide helpful ponchos; whereas I never used shorts nor swimming gear - not warm though and virtually no free time fo swim.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Places we stayed had mainly local employees, used local guides and had water-saving guidelines. Food could perhaps have been more locally sourced and more emphasis put on specific projects being supported in the various areas (the travel brochure mentioned various projects we heard no more about during the tour, either from our tour guides or from the local lodges/guides).

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

On the whole, excellent. Quite full on, with early starts and long travel days, almost no down time (one afternoon in 15 days) or chance to gain additional knowledge of the areas visited. But this was a necessary compromise to see so much in a limited time.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Elephant Pool Lodge, swimming in the pool with elephants so close in the water hole and being in their water hole hide when a heard of elephants were there.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Read about the places and animals in advance. Follow the advice given by the host company in their confirmation literature. The guides know what they are talking about, follow their instructions. Prepare to enjoy a fabulous country, lovely people and the awesome sightings of the animals and birds of Africa.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes we did. We spoke to people working there who were appreciative of tourists, who give them jobs to provide for their families, by being there in a sustainable way. Also we could see how all the people involved are supporting environmental and animal welfare.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was an excellent holiday where we had total confidence in our splendid guides and we were lucky enough to see some amazing and rare animal sights as well as having a group of 6 couples from five countries who all got on together very well.

review 15 May 2018

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The opportunity to be in such close proximity to a large range of wild animals in their natural habitat.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

It's not always easy to access a bank so when you get the chance, get plenty of the local currency. ATMs are not always reliable. We were advised never to put a card into an ATM in Zimbabwe = high risk of being swallowed up. Better to take plenty of dollars or other accepted currency. Avoid salads, drinks with ice, tap water - even for rinsing your toothbrush.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Impossible to reduce environmental impact by travelling there. But it can be minimized by leaving nothing behind and using local produce where possible. Also employing local people - in evidence everywhere. Conservation support: save our sausage trees campaign.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Very well organized. Excellent guides throughout. Accommodation fine apart from Rivernest which could do with upgrading or replacing. The itinerary was outstanding - provided a comprehensive range of experiences of Botswana and Victoria Falls.
