1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Altea was very good. Great hotel.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Make sure not to go to the restaurant recommended on the Wednesday ride don’t open on a Wednesday. They need to check tram schedules as we ended up having to cycle on dangerous roads as the trams where not running on the route we followed. Advise people the monastery on trip day six only opens till 13.00hrs as we only had 15 mins to go round it. Most importantly the need to update the website as the hotel advertised as part of the package in Alicante has not been used for for 2 years and the replacement hotel was a big a big appointment. The hotel in Cullera was very basic. I would suggest if they insist in using this hotel that they should at least book rooms with a sea view. The hotel in Valencia was excellent.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes. Because you are not using a car and buying local goods.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was a good holiday and we enjoyed it very much. The host company need to service the bikes better as a pedal fell off Stephanie’s bike causing her to fall off the bike. I checked the other pedal and it was hanging on by a couple of threads. On a positive not they dealt with the problem by replacing the bike. This is the second time we have used the host company and although it was good value for money I am not sure we would use them again.Karen Curtin review 20 Dec 2022
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
We had a new adventure every day, and the self-guided bicycling routes were really interesting. Discovering an area of Spain that was new to both of us was really worthwhile. Because we live where it is snowy and cold, we were not in peak cycling shape so this particular tour suited us as it was the right amount of biking, not too hard and not too easy for this time of year (December).2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
To tell your guests to be SURE to spend a full day in Valencia; what a fantastic city! We so enjoyed our stay there for an extra night, and LOVED the hotel we stayed in - the Silken Puerta Valencia. Fantastic.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I do, as we used public transportation (train, trams) and did not need to rent a car. Biking for a week up to Costa Blanca was a good way to not use fossil fuels. The small hotels and inns were run/owned by locals, and not part of big corporate chains. To me, that is very important.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent, Javier (Xavi) at the tour operator was responsive at all times. His associate, Blass, met with us and helped us to get on our way. We are experienced cyclists and found this tour suited us in December quite well; pre-Christmas in Spain was enchanting, and moderate weather enjoyable. The only downside was shorter winter days, we did not have as much time to sight see with the bikes during the daily rides as we did not have the daylight to arrive in the evening. But there was so much to see on the creative off the beaten path routes, we had a great time. We only biked in rain on 1 day, and we let Xavi know we biked a more direct route into Valencia. One option I would suggest you might offer is an optional upgrade to a higher quality (regular, non-ebike) bicycle. The bikes were fine, and did the job. However, the shifting was a bit rough and the saddles not as comfortable as we would have hoped; this is NOT a complaint, for the rental price of the bikes this was to be expected. However, we would have opted to pay for an upgrade if it had been available.Louise Annett review 13 Sep 2022
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
When we went across the promenades of each town. Cycling up the mountains some of the views.. The bird life in the natural park.. When we’re up in Altea we found it very picturesque and my partner fell off his bike so not going to forget that..2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Drink plenty of water, look at the opening times of castles places to visit as most places close from 1-4. We arrived as one was closing.. check the paper work so the hotels are the ones you think they are as one of ours wasn’t. We went to eat between 2.30 and 4.30 most days when it was really hot to keep out of the sun..we also wore our swim suits as when we came across a area that was great for a swim we would make the most of it. We took metal water bottles to keep water cold.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes as we ate at local eateries and we reduced environmental impact as we were cycling.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Overall the holiday was great, interesting, energetic, beautiful scenery as we were offered tips of places of interest to visit.. and the bikes were well equipped with detailed maps and GPS.Holiday Reviews
