Reviews for Pantanal rare wildlife holiday in Brazil
Kelly Fletcher review 24 Sep 2024
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Watching a jaguar hunt caimans on the Rio Negro in the Pantanal.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
The toughest part of organizing this trip is deciding how much time to spend in the north vs. south Pantanal. North will virtually guarantee a jaguar sighting while south has broader animal viewing, but fewer chances to see a jaguar. The north seemed to be more congested with people from many lodges all converging on the same animal sightings while the south seemed to be less crowded and felt more relaxed.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Everywhere we went there was a strong emphasis on eco-friendly policies which seemed to be generally adhered to. The only exception would be Fazenda San Francisco where there was excessive use of plastic water bottles with no real alternative available.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
