1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The Morzine area was absolutely beautiful, with lots to do. The house was large, airy, comfortable and clean, the staff were lovely and helpful, lots of food, drinks and snacks throughout the day.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
There were several major negative aspects to consider. The house is on a main road and the noise of cars really bothered us. The upkeep was lacking, with two showers leaking into the living room. And we were disappointed in the lack of local guidance - the house staff weren't locals or travel experts and we didn't receive much help in planning walks and hikes, though there was a helpful guest pack with information and links.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Not particularly.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
I would gladly return to the area but make other accommodation arrangements.Read the operator's response here:
Thank you for the review.
We would particularly like to comment on 2. above
The chalet is indeed located alongside a road on one side, something we believe is clearly communicated in the location details provided before booking.
This positioning also allows for very easy access to the centre of Morzine, which many guests appreciate. I’m sorry if you felt this was not sufficiently clear.
A leak did develop with the showers the week before your stay. Karen re-sealed the affected showers on the Saturday of your arrival in an effort to resolve
the issue. Unfortunately, the problem persisted, and we were unable to source a plumber with the required availability during your stay. While we carry out
regular maintenance, occasional issues can arise in a property in continuous use, and we did try to address this as quickly as possible. We do not believe
that this remotely reflects a lack of general upkeep of the property.
We pride ourselves on our knowledge of the local area. Karen, in particular, has done every walk we recommend and has guided guests for many years. She
advised a route that is popular with families and generally very well received. I’m sorry it did not meet your expectations.
We would summarise how the holiday benefited local people and reduced environmental impacts as follows
Our booking process is paperless and we avoid printing wherever possible. We are a small family run business so do not have a typical head office.
Additionally we travel to work together and walk when possible. We make conscious efforts to minimise waste when shopping by trying to choose products
with less packaging. We make sure to recycle any appropriate waste from the Chalets. We collect all the recycling and then separate it into the communal
bins when necessary, we encourage our guests to do the same. In our village it is possible to recycle a wide range of products including soft plastics.
Additionally in the local supermarket there are points to recycle bulbs, batteries and printer cartridges. We do our best not to use single use plastics and
avoid providing anything to our guests packaged with single use plastic. We try to lower our carbon emissions by transporting guests within resort together
we buy food locally and seasonally and promote this ethos to our guests. We have a full Vegan and Vegeterian menu available and have reduced the use of
red meats on our full menu.
As local residents ourselves we have been welcomed into the community. It is this experience that we want to give to our guests and encourage them to
speak to and engage with all locals they come into contact with. This includes our local partners who we work closely with to provide the most authentic
experience for our guests.
The local community relies on visitors. By encouraging our guests to engage with the local community and activities they are supporting the host
community. By increasing visitors to the valley this boosts the local economy, which supports the local community.
As we are the destination supplier, we make sure that should our guest need a guide for their particular activity, a local guide is booked. Our guides are
permanent residents of the local community. Where possible we employ local staff and make use of local services. We encourage our guests to visit the
local markets and make use of local activity providers while on our holidays. A large proportion of the income derived from our holidays goes directly into
the local community and we try to ensure that this benefits small, local businesses.
We are obviously disappointed with your comment that you wouldn't return to holiday with us again we pride ourselves on the holidays we provide and the
level of service and it is highly unusual for us to receive anything other than positive comments and have a very large percentage of returning customers
year on year who enjoy our properties, locations and the service we provide.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Hard to choose between paragliding, rafting or mountain biking! Samoens is a fantastic outdoor playground, and quieter and more family focused than Morzine we found.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
We flew to Geneva and hired a car. With small children we felt we benefited from independent travel in a way that for example isn't so necessary in other locations nearby like Morzine.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I'll be honest and say this wasn't at the forefront of our minds, but I think Chris and Karen helped steer us towards more responsible local choices for food and activities.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Fab. With young children, we were looking for a relaxing low-effort break that still engaged the whole family. Having Chris, Karen & Josh help us with activities, and cater made everything easy, and I thought the service we received was very good.Holiday Reviews
