1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Once we got going the North Downs Way and Pilgrims Way was all fantastic, great pubs to stay at.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
The arrival at Rochester on day 1 is pretty confusing in terms of parking, and what is going to happen with cars. There is a system but it took a while to find out. We did eventually find parking spaces, but could only book for 72 hours, and the receptionist wrote our car numbers in a book to do the next 72 hours for us while we were on the walk, which we weren't absolutely sure would happen, but it did. It made for a slightly nervous return in case of parking fines.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Certainly benefitted local people in terms of using local pubs a lot! Not so sure about the environment.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We all thoroughly enjoyed it.Shelley LeValley review 15 Oct 2024
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The olive press tour in Agristourismo I Mandorli and the incredible meal at Agriturismo Bargo Della Marmotta. The walks through olive groves were fascinating…..it was beautiful wherever we looked.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Look into elevation changes. Not just how much change , but how many changes each day and how much each is. Also, practice with the Active Nav app as best as possible. Also confirm with written walking map. We needed both. Also ask about trail conditions, risks. We were on some pretty dicey trails with huge drop offs, sloped track with loose gravel.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes - we helped the economy wherever we stayed. Enjoyed the dinners at the agriturismos that had restaurantsAnd we did our best to find gelato and/or wine in every little village.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Good. More difficult walking conditions, especially the first day, than we expected. Also hoped for little byway stops for rest and refreshment. It was a great experience, a learning experience and we will ask many more questions next time we book a self-guided walking tour. Good start for 70 yr old novices.Holiday Reviews
