1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Hard to name one specific thing. The sheer distance and the variety of countries visited, as well as learning about the history and culture of places I’d had no previous knowledge of, was a privilege. The terracotta warriors in Xi’an were breathtaking, as was the Zaha Hadid-designed cultural centre in Baku. And who could have imagined that a small town in Uzbekistan could house an enormous collection of Soviet impressionist art!2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be prepared for very long, occasionally uncomfortable train journeys, and sometimes tiresome border crossings. Bring binoculars too!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The only environmental impact would be taking the train between cities instead of flying.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
This was a terrific experience and one I’d recommend to anyone who enjoys the journey as much as the destination.Holiday Reviews
