Reviews for Essential Turkey group tour

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Two things jump to mind - visiting the Mausoleum of Ataturk and seeing the changing of the guard, what a great man. Also having the opportunity to see the whirling dervishes perform and gaining an understanding of the Mevlani history.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Check your airport pick up details before you leave home and make sure you have your tour voucher with you in case of room type allocation.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes overall we contributed to the tourism industry, coach driver, staff at the hotels and payments for visiting attractions. In addition our Tour Director added in local lunches which contributed directly to people living in the villages and an added bonus of visiting a caravanserai.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Our Tour Director Charlie was great, having over 20 years in the tourism business. His knowledge of his country both historical and current was exceptional and he managed to make some complicated issues very easy for us to understand. The tour was fast paced and we covered a lot of ground (3200km) which was great for me as I used the travel time to view the country, listen to Charlie's commentary and read up on the next place to visit! I can't quite believe how much we packed in to the 13 days but it was a compromise in terms of time spent in each location over the number of sites that we saw.Holiday Reviews
You can trust Responsible Travel reviews because, unlike many other schemes, reviews can ONLY be written by people who we have verified have been on the holidays. In addition, we don't run these holidays ourselves - our only interest is giving you the best independent advice.
