1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
We loved the Nubian homestay and the felucca trip. Our guide Saeed was fabulous. It is hard to pick one thing as the whole trip was brilliant (see my review below).2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
It is easier to bring USD or STG with you as the ATMs only give out Egyptian pounds (bulky) and there is a limit to how much can be taken out each day. Bring insect repellent with 40% deet. It is a nice idea to bring a small gift for the Nubian family/children.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The homestay probably benefitted the Nubian family and we all loved that part of the trip. The felucca was environmentally friendly. We did support local businesses at various stages throughout the trip but we did note that a lot of disposable plastic bags were used.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We had an amazing trip, our tour guide Saeed was really excellent. He had a great knowledge and enthusiasm about all things Egyptian which he passed on to our group. He also had a great personality and sense of humour and kept my 4 teenage boys entertained with stories and anecdotes. They all agreed that he was one of the best things about the trip. The trip was varied and covered all of the main sights and experiences. We loved the Nubian homestay and the felucca trip. We had a lovely group/friendly families which made the trip even more enjoyable. We would highly recommend it.Alex Nuth review 16 Apr 2025
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
I was pleased to visit Abu Simbel and I was delighted at how well the kids hit it off and entertained themselves.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
This holiday really is as busy as it looks; pack light, in easy to carry bags and be on time through the day so you can make the most of the packed itinerary. Be sure you read all the details before signing up and you are ready to get involved with the group, different types of accommodation, including sharing with others. Consider adding a day at the start to settle into the country and at the end to relax/go to a water park3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I think the holiday benefitted a few business and local families and of course we had an Egyptian guide. With overland travel rather than flights there was a reduced environmental impact.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Our guide was kind, patient and thoughtful as well as very knowledgeable and was really important to how well the trip flowed. Due to unseasonal hot weather mid-tour we did not really get a quiet day midway as it 42 degrees, and I think that day is vital to allow people to maintain the pace, early mornings and wrangling the kids. For me the mix of being out till 2 or 3pm and then the kids having a pool or free time was key to making the trip work for adults and young people,Holiday Reviews
