1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

You really get to experience so many sides to India. It was a super holiday - made extra special by Varsha - the group leader - who was outstanding.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

You don't need a sleeping bag - I went in December.... it's cold.... but the blanket is warm - just bring some long johns. There are some long train journeys, because you cover huge distances - but the days are so full, you quickly forget.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Definitely

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Fabulous.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Staying in the Thar Desert was the most memorable for me. It was great to sleep under the stars and I got the best night's sleep of the trip!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

I had been warned beforehand that I would be targeted by children on the street looking for money especially in Delhi. On our optional first day our car driver was very clear that the small children should be in school and not on the streets. He said that school, uniforms and a lunch meal were provided free and that in no way should we encourage them by giving them money. Although this didn't initially sit comfortably with me I came to understand that the children were being used by their parents and if we stuck to his advice maybe they would allow their children to be educated and fed.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes within our tour we got to see some amazing handicrafts and lady crafters which reassured me that we were paying the appropriate value for a hand-crafted item. A special mention for the visit to Sheroes which was very emotional, extremely inspiring and a very personal experience with the ladies that we spent time with, what a great place this was and gave us a thorough understanding of the work and outcomes of this project.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was a great trip with a packed itinerary with lots of opportunities to learn about the history and culture of this fascinating country. Our tour leader was fantastic being on call 24/7 and always willing to respond to our many questions as most of the group were first time visitors to India. There were many times when our timetable do not go according to plan, as is normal in India, but she constantly adapted and communicated with the drivers and local guides to make sure that everything ran as smoothly as possible, this she did as a matter of course and in a very professional manner. Her guidance was spot on and invaluable and she really made the holiday extra special for me, what a star Tem is and a real credit to the local operator.
