1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The most exciting parts of our holidays were the day spent at the Asian Elephant sanctuary close to Chachanaburi and witnessing two 1 year old sea turtles being released in Ko Talu.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

In April Thailand is really hot, but it's also great as there is Thai new year which is a very interesting cultural experience.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Homestaying felt like direct help to the Thai woman who welcomed us and a great way to get to know authentic thai ways of life when she took us around her neighbour to explore it and on an outing with her friend. As for environmental impact, unfortunately Thailand is very very polluted, Bangkok is appalling and we were negatively impressed by the consume of little plastic bottles for water, at a rate that would be unthinkable back home. As for supporting conservation, yes, see answer to the first question.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Unforgettable holiday!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Many memorable moments: from the home stay at Bangkok, to the food experiences, from the island hopping to the emerald pool. Maybe the best part was the people part: guides, drivers, locals were all very super helpful and kind. Everyone did everything they could to make us feel comfortable and safe.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Follow the guides' suggestions, relax and have fun.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Our vacation greatly benefited local people. We bought from local entrepreneurs, ate with local families and tried to purchase local crafts and services. The guides also taught us of local customs and involved us in local rituals and activities. We felt a genuine connection to the real local world.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Far beyond my expectations. Outstanding.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

There were so many memorable and exciting moments but the highlights were definitely: boat trip in Bangkok first morning, Auntie Ad's delicious lunch and beautiful organic house and garden, elephant sanctuary (voted best day by all!), New Years Eve party at our resort in Kanchanaburi, monkeys and gibbons in Khao Yai National Park, driving out at sunset in the back of an open truck to see the bats, meeting the local kids and martial arts teacher, total relaxation on Koh Samed. The list could go on as we did so much.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

We were in a large group (16) and it went really well with that number of people. Everything was taken care of and prearranged by the operator and there was so much going on that everyone was engaged and involved from 7 years old to 77! A really great trip for a family with mixed ages and stages. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this holiday.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

All our guides were local and they were all fantastic especially Tong, Jay and Fang. Tommy was our main driver and he was exceptional in his care of us and his reliability. He had great local road knowledge and local knowledge. We were so sad to leave him at the end! We really had a sense that all our accommodation was owned by locals too and of course our days at the elephant sanctuary and martial arts school felt like money well spent. We tried to eat at local markets and support local stalls rather than the larger shopping malls (that part of the itinerary could be taken out - Bangkok Siam Centre!)

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We all thoroughly enjoyed every part of the experience and loved the intensity and variety of the well organised and full itinerary. Thank you so much to the operator. We will be back to you for our next family reunion!
