1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Visiting my old school and neighbourhood, entering the tombs of 2 pyramids, and seeing 26 mummies.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Make sure you ask about any additional shops/factories that are not included on the itinerary. We were taken to overpriced shops/factories after being asked if we wanted to go. We declined on later days because we realized that we would be taken to touristy overpriced shops/factories. In addition, be sure to check when tips should be given because I didn't know that we would sometimes have different guides or drivers and wouldn't see them again to give them their tips. Also, bring smaller bills to give tips on a daily basis. Ask that the guide not be on their phone so much.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Our holiday benefited our local guides and drivers. We got to know them well because we spent a lot of one-on-one time with them.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I had lived in Cairo as a child, so it was special to return after so many years to enjoy its history. Cairo is an overwhelming city and having a private guide and driver was well-worth the money. I also appreciated that we had one day that we could tailor our plan. We got to see a lot in such a short time!

Experiencing the majestic wonder of the Ancient Egyptian history in person, the size, magnificence and detail is extraordinary.

Do not have any reservations about visiting Egypt at this time, everyone is friendly and helpful and one feels perfectly safe.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes I believe so

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We were delighted with every aspect of our trip, the arrangements all happened seamlessly, and we were treated very kindly and thoughtfully. We embarked on this trip very much at the last minute, with little planning or expectation, the tour was everything we could have hoped for and our guides and tour leaders were very adaptive to our requests.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

It's is very hard to say. Everything was great.! The sights and excursions, Islamic Cairo, the boat (the MS Salacia) and its staff and the tour guides were all excellent. Our guide on the boat was outstanding and really enhanced our trip. Possibly the best sight was Abu Simbel - a long trip but out of this world. My rather new dietary restriction (coeliac disease) was no problem for the kitchen staff on the boat and in fact I received special service all the way though.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

It will not be a restful holiday. Early starts to get the best of the sights. Be aware that staying in Islamic Cairo will not be a quite experience

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

It appears that lots of locals are employed to service the various parts of the trip. Reducing environmental impacts is not a big thing in Egypt ??

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Our trip was excellent in almost all respects. We had an issue to significant noise in our hotel in the centre of Islamic Cairo. This was really outside of the control of the hotel and they did their best to help.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Really difficult as so many but probably a snorkelling trip on the Red Sea beat all the temples although the pyramids came close as did some of the scenes from the Nile cruise.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

It is very easy to get templed out - after a few days in Cairo with the pyramids, the citadel and coptic Cairo followed by Luxor and all the stops down to Aswan, we really didn't want to see another temple for a few years ?? And, personally, I found the Valley of the Kings very boring - I have to say I am not very interested in holes in the ground.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The benefit from tourism is clear as, without it, many people in Egypt would be in poverty. Maybe I should say - many more people. However, the country is filthy - especially around the Red Sea and this is not due to tourism - we visited several areas not on the tourist route and they were worse than the main tourist areas. It is down to the locals who are maybe immune to the rubbish around or maybe do not care or are not educated sufficiently about this. The main issue is single use plastics especially in the tourist areas where every single tourist seems to be given 4-10 bottles of water every day! Did the holiday reduce environment impact or support conservation - not one iota!

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Great time and probably sufficient in each of the areas we stayed in - 4 in Cairo, 4 on the Nile Cruise, 4 in Luxor, 12 on the Red Sea and finally 3 more in Cairo. I would say each was about right and we were happy to move on at the end of each stage of the trip
