1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

On the descent of Gunung Batur my hand was held by the girl guide. Never though that would happen to me again.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Relax! Our tour guide was terrific but caused some cultural confusion as she was a 30 year old female Muslim from Java taking a group of mostly female (and not shy) Westerners around Bali which is mostly Hindu. I loved the misunderstandings.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Local guides were all excellent. Don't know who owns the hotels but they were also good. Got through a mountain of water bottles. If there was water for refilling bottles I never found it. Did my bit to reduce rubbish on descent of Gunung Batur. Conservation of what exactly?

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Great group, great tour guide, great local guides, good food and lots of pools!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Snorkeling in Lovina.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Bring modest clothes to wear in the temples and small villages- shirts that cover your shoulders and shorts that are just above the knee or lower. Bring a flashlight for the mountain hike!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Since we had a large jug of water for refilling water bottles we definitely used fewer plastic water bottles.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Amazing! The activities were amazing and allowed us to see Bali in a way that we might not have been able to if traveling alone. Our tour guide and local guides were are very kind and incredibly helpful.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Snorkelling, climbing the volcano and learning about the particular kind of Hinduism practised in Bali.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Try and have an extra day in Ubud (the starting place), either before or after - there's lots to see there and around, the hotel is beautiful and there is a good choice of cheaper accommodation too. Hire a bike!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

To a certain extent, as local guides were used, but tourism is so big in Bali that it seems to be what many people survive on anyway. We used 2 minivans for transport, so that's not particularly environmentally friendly, but hard to see what alternatives there could be as there is little public transport.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We saw beautiful landscapes and temples and interesting sights, but were a bit disappointed with some of the local guides who though friendly and polite, didn't speak enough English to explain what we were seeing. Also there were some quite long drives, and more stops along the way for refreshments, temple visits etc would have been good.
