Reviews for Montenegro walking holiday
Grant Matchullis review 24 Jul 2026
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
There are two primary views of Montenegro, seaside and mountaintop. Those mountaintop views are stunning and even sweeter after accomplishing the hike up the mountainside to see them. We would not have experienced Montenegro in such a hands-on fashion without the tour operator. The staff was very friendly and professional. Marko, our guide, helped us navigate the trails successfully and arranged for a variety of wonderful, local experiences. Vlatkos, our driver, expertly navigated the tight winding roads that we would never have attempted on our own. Finally, going in a small group was very enjoyable from the encouragement on the trails to the comradery at the supper table. Take this trip. You won’t regret it.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Consider both distance and elevation changes when training for your trip. We found hiking boots and hiking poles to be helpful.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes. Often, we were in private, family-run accommodations in remote areas. When you get to have conversations with the locals you understand better the impact that the tour is having. In particular, the eco-lodges were very eco-friendly.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We got good value for our investment. Others in our group indicated the operator provided a high standard and we found that to be true.Holiday Reviews
You can trust Responsible Travel reviews because, unlike many other schemes, reviews can ONLY be written by people who we have verified have been on the holidays. In addition, we don't run these holidays ourselves - our only interest is giving you the best independent advice.
