1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
So many different things! The lovely families we met, how well the kids all got on, the food prepared by Olympia and Luke, the beautiful chalet and amazing views, each trip was balanced perfectly for the needs of the group. Hiking and overnight refuge stay was something we never thought our 10 and 11 year old would ever do. Saskia is an incredible host, gentle, supportive, offering structure and freedom at the same time. Yoga at 7.30am every morning as the sun came up was just perfect.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Do book it, especially if you have kids who arent that active or moan all the time on walks! Be amazed that your children will eat and do things they wouldn't normally do because the other kids are doing it too. Make sure you have Tupperware and water bottles for the DIY daily lunches as well as the hike. There's a decent sized spare fridge to put in any extra treats you might want. No AC but judicious use of the shutters kept it more pleasant in bedrooms. If you can fit in sleeping bag liners and pillow cases for the refuge you won't regret it (even if it makes your bag that bit heavier)3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, locals used for all the activities. Asked to car share to reduce carbon footprint. Used environmentally friendly cleaning products.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
A real gem, kids were so sad to leave their new friends, all felt that we had done something new or been out of comfort zones and bonded as a family because of it. Maybe not rested, but certainly well fed and full of positive energy by the end!Holiday Reviews
