1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The snorkelling at Menjangan Resort was absolutely fantastic. I have never seen so many different beautiful and unusual fish and corals. Ubud was fascinating and a real insight in to Bali culture. Finally Sarimbwana ecolodge was amazing, remote, peaceful and a real retreat from busy life.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

We wish we had spent another day or so in Ubud. There was so much to do and see there. We skipped the Gitgit waterfall stop which saved some travel time and walked to the 2 waterfalls in the Munduk area when we stayed at Puri Lumbung which were just spectacular. We would probably also reduce the total number of nights in the mountains - say do munduk OR sarimbwana but not both. Maybe we were unlucky but it rained pretty much constantly in the sarimbwana resort which I think is to be expected.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We visited a couple of cooperatives, a batik coop and a coffee and spice growing set up. However, we were not so impressed by the mongooses being kept in tiny cages to make the Luwak coffee.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Superb!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Hi I am actually still in Bali. I have 4 more days left by the beach. The most memorable part was the herbal medicine and craft workshops in the mountains. Also the variety of colourful fish and coral at Mentangan Island. Better than the red sea! And of course all the handmade beautiful carvings.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Move around as I did to see the real Bali and its people. Go off the beaten track into the mountains and explore all the small villages.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes there were a lot of locals employed at the eco lodge where I stayed, and in the Puri Lumbung cottages.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

5 stars. The people are so nice, always happy and the island is like nowhere else.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Just decide what kind of holiday you want - I'd recommend a mixture of busy and remote to get a good idea of the culture.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, it was very Eco friendly and all our tour guides were local people.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They put together the perfect pascal age for our honeymoon. We can't thank them enough.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Sailing down the river in our private boat in kalamantan looking at the orangutans swinging through the jungle and staying on a remote island near komodo snarkling and watching the birds.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Definitely book this, it was a well organised and extremeley enjoyable trip.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We stayed in hotels and lodges run by the local people so all the money went straight to the local people rather than large international organisations. The guides were also local and were very appreciative of our business. Not sure about the elephant safari, we did enjoy our stay but thought it was a bit expensive and it was run by a business man rather than the locals. Although I knew they were trying to save the sumatrian elephant I wasnt sure if those elephants were entirely happy about being chained up.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Everything about the trip was excellent

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The opportunity to learn more about the culture, religion and customs from the local guide, about the way of living.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

To spend more than two weeks

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

I was delighted that care is being taken about these very important issues - the sheer fact that this is being talked and addressed even on a small scale is fantastic for a c country like Indonesia

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was a fantastic holiday, the organisation was faultless, the guide excellent - overall I am very pleased, especially because I hardly ever go on a package holiday of any kind. Thank you

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The landscape and general visual treat of shrines, rice terraces, colours, people, offerings, fabrics, foods...

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Plan your route carefully around the island so that you know whether there are any must-do things that you'll wish you'd done at stop A when you get to stop B.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, in some places. One of the hotels (Amertha Villas, Pemuteran) had a love of air conditioning and came into our room each day to turn it on when we wouldn't have had it on at all - made the room freezing, apart from the environmental considerations! :-) There also seemed to be a lot of watering of unnecessary lawns there. An ABSOLUTELY beautiful spot though - maybe my favourite on the trip.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We had a relaxing and pleasant time. Some really special moments. On the whole, Bali was much more commercialised than I'd expected in a lot of ways but we had a good honeymoon. The operator was extremely helpful and patient, making all of the possible travel options extremely clear.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The fact that Bali could be so much - we were in four totally different environments - including weather - in 15 days and each was wonderful. The snorkelling off Menjangang Island was world class - never seen better

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

You dont need to go to a big resort to go to Bali. We saw so much by staying off the beaten track

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Almost all the staff at the four hotels we stayed at were local and long term employees. We also bought local meals, coffees etc as it was much more fun

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Way up at the top of the list. Maybe the one in Borneo wins by a squeak as it was a life time ambition to go there. But I will go back to Bali - and with the same travel company too - they got us m just right and could not have picked a better selection of areas to visit or places to stay!
