1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Walking in the mountains with our Berber guide & not seeing another person for 5 hours! And … learning all about the Berber way of life.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Most people only stay a night at Kasbah du Toubkal, we spent 4 nights which gives you a chance to really appreciate the beautiful landscape & immerse yourself in the Berber hospitality. Book a full day guided walk. After about 1/2 we didn’t see another person for about 5hrs!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Our Berber guide explained the very positive impact the Kasbah du Toubkal was making to the lives of those in his community. For example , his work as a guide allowed him to pay for his children to go to school (20km) away.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We were treated like Royalty both at the Kasbah & at the beautiful Riad les yeux bleus in Marrakech. It was one of the best holidays we have ever had!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

All of it! We had a most memorable holiday and found it to be a wonderful experience. Enjoyed everything, it was a very busy schedule packed with interesting adventure.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Come with an open mind. This was not a relaxing holiday but one filled with excitement.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Hopefully, yes, particularly up at the Kasbah, it was more obvious there.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Highly, I felt very renewed at the end. Something quite different and we have wonderful memories of a lovely country.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

This was our first visit to Morocco so all of it was memorable - new experiences, sights, sounds and tastes. We were made to feel so welcome by the staff at the Kasbah and at the Riad des Yeux Bleus. Nothing was too much trouble, especially on the first day when we arrived but British Airways decided to leave our bags in London (they arrived later the same day). The views from the Kasbah, the hotel staff and the mountain guides were all absolutely superb. The food was excellent and the room was exceptional.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Book with confidence - this trip was extremely well planned and all details are covered. We had a great time.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We appreciated the investment and commitment that is made in Imlil and the surrounding area to support the local community, especially the education of girls. It was good to talk to our mountain guide Ali about his children and where they were studying.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Five stars - both locations were brilliant and we would book with Responsible Travel again without hesitation. Thank you.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

We absolutely loved our stay in The Kasbah at Imlil. The staff, accommodation, setting, food and atmosphere was fabulous. We had 2 days of glorious walking with incredibly informative and entertaining Berber guides who all spoke an impressive number of languages. It was just perfect and we feel so lucky to have experienced such an amazing place. Sadly Marrakech was memorable from the very heavy air pollution from the cars and mopeds. Riad Slitine was lovely and again the staff looked after us really well, but we did find the pollution very unpleasant.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Spend as much time as possible in Imlil and the mountains, it is a real escape. Speaking to friends who have also visited Marrakech and did not have a problem with air pollution, I guess it is weather dependant so it might be worth trying to find out if the are better and worse times.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The ethos of the Kasbah, supporting the local community really made us feel as though we were contributing to the local Berber people's lives. They were all so friendly, polite and happy to have visitors as they are able to gain from it. I'm afraid having flown from UK and driven to Imlil I can't claim I helped towards reducing environmental impact!

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

The Kasbah and the mountains were fantastic and I would go back again. The Riad Slitine was a haven from the hectic Medina and very comfortable, but sadly the air pollution was horrid and made our time in Marrakech less enjoyable, hence I have given the holiday 4 stars.

Thank you very much for your kind feedback, we are sorry you found the air quality in Marrakech affected your enjoyment and marked us down from 5* to 4* because of this but glad you enjoyed all the other aspects and would have given us 5* if there was less pollution in Marrakech. The poor air quality is not something people generally comment on so maybe you were unfortunate during your stay. Marrakech is probably no worse than many UK cities indeed they are trying to improve aspects with increasing cycle lanes and even electric buses.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Waking up and looking out over our balcony at Mount Toubkal

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Bring lots of layers to wear and take off because the temperature differences were large.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes as 5% of the profits made by Kasbah du Toubkal go to the local Berber population.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent - a really nice mix of the Atlas mountains and Marrakech.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The Kasbah du Toubkal in Imlil was a wonderful place. The people who ran it were very friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent and it was a wonderful place to relax and just look at the amazing views of snow capped mountains after lovely walks around the area with our helpful friendly guide, the hammam was very welcome at the end of the day!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Marrakech is a very exciting busy city great fun for a couple of days but it was lovely to enjoy the peace and beauty of the mountains after.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, the Kasbah du Toubkal has an excellent policy of charging 5% extra for the local community and the charity 'Education for all'. The locals we spoke to said that the work it brought them kept more people from leaving the mountains.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Very good. Although it was a short holiday we would go again, maybe for longer.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Walking in the Atlas mountains, and the whole stay at the Kasbah du Toubkal.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Make sure to let the Kasbah know of any dietary requirements well ahead of time - there's just a single set menu every night.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes - the Kasbah is a big part of the community there, and they gave a lot of information on the benefits to the local people.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We had a wonderful time, saw many beautiful sights, ate excellent food and experienced a new culture.

Thank you very much Kirsty for your feedback. We are delighted you had such a lovely time. Yes we can cater for special dietary requirements and advise clients to let us know before arrival and discuss menus with our chef at the Kasbah when there.
